    Ebay item 9/28/09
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $8,900 reserve not met, 1 bid 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
This is my 1969 Jaguar XKE two seater coupe. It has 83K original miles. I purchased it approximately 4 years ago from an older gentleman. He bought it in 1988. Then it had 79K miles. Now it has 83K. Title is in my name.

It is a two seat coupe. It is very reliable, but I don't drive it much. I take it out a few times each year. Mostly a local show or two.

The body is solid, if you repaint it, there will some light work needed in the rear quarters, but even there a magnet sticks well, so its not been repaired with bondo. Or you can drive it the way it is, as I do.

The floors, sills, the tube sub-frame points, the battery box area, etc, are very good. With a magnet, I found no bondo. I expect this Jaguar was repainted BRG a long time ago, because the original light tan color is simply awful for any Jaguar. I tried to photograph everything, even underneath. You can see the original color in the trunk.

Last year I had it serviced at Lippencott's Jaguar. They specialize on older Jaguars.

The car drives fine. You can drive it home it you want. That is, if you want to drive a 40 year old Jaguar any long distance. I've had no problems.

The Chrome is good, but lacks the original luster, but good nonetheless. I am missing one chrome piece around the window. It blew off while I was driving one day. Part of it, I found and saved.

The A/C compressor is off. I was missing some of the parts. I purchased A/C cores from Lippincott, but there is a better modern conversion available. The engine has a slight oil pan drip, which mostly leaves a small stain, but does not use oil. And the paint is poor, but looks OK from 20 feet away. I try keep it waxed and store it indoors, but it could use paint

Somewhere along the line, the original two carburetor set up was changed to a three carburetor set up, all with factory jaguar parts. Although I generally loathe non-factory conversions, this was a great improvement and looks so factory. The jaguar also has orange koni shocks all around, and an ansa muffler. The car came to the fellow I bought it from just as you see it today.

I have many more photos on photobucket. I tried to get more photos from underneath, inside the trunk, etc. Cut and Paste the following into your browser s713.photobucket.com/albums/ww138/dnaj11/69%20Jag. Also ignore the date on the photos. I did not program my digital camera. The pictures were taken this past month.

This is a 40 year old car, so of course it has defects and will be sold as is. I tried to take many pictures and describe it accurately, but you are advised to come see it. Please email for an appointment. I'd be happy to show it to you or your agent while the auction is underway.

    Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE Series 2 Coupe Red with a tan interior. Very strong running car. About 55,000 miles. The Jaguar XKE is considered one of the most beautiful cars ever made. This is a numbers matching car. The series 2 Jaguar cars represent a great value in a XKE, they cost much less than the series 1 cars and they offer excellent performance and basically the same looks. The steering wheel fitted to the car will not go with the sale. The steering wheel in the photos will go with the car.

Car is located in northern Westchester County New York.

    - Believed to have been sold new in America
    - Acquired by the vendor in Connecticut in 2015 and now registered with the DVLA
    - Reportedly having a recommissioned air conditioning system and retrimmed interior

This left hand drive 4.2 Coupe is believed to have been sold new in America and was reportedly acquired by the vendor in early 2015 from a car dealer in Connecticut, USA. He was told that the car had been restored in around 2008 and that the previous owner had spent about $11,000 on a top-end engine refresh, the fitting of a stainless steel exhaust system and the fitting of triple SU carburettors, although the car arrived in the UK with no documents to support these claims. Upon repatriation in 2015 the E-Type was registered with the DVLA and various recommissioning works were reportedly carried out such as an overhaul of the air conditioning and braking systems, the application of five new tyres, and the fitting of a new leather and vinyl interior. The engine is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition with the remainder of the car described as being in very good condition with cold air conditioning. The file contains a copy of the Connecticut Title and the car has a valid MOT certificate that expires in August 2016.

PLEASE NOTE: The vendor has informed us that this vehicle is accompanied by the original steering wheel, jack, tool kit, handbook and operators manual.
