    Car offered at:
    www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/jaguar/e_type/1440658.html

    Sellers description:
    Location: Houston, Texas, United States

    Description:
    1969 Jaguar E-Type FHC
    Chassis No. 1R25086
    Engine No. TR1295-9

Desirable Fixed Head Coupe with 2-Seat Configuration
    Single-Family Ownership for 42 Years
Numbers-Matching - Manual Transmission & Chrome Wire Wheels

Finished in light blue paintwork over very original and nicely preserved blue leather seating, the 1969 XKE FHC presented here displays an older exterior respray in the correct hue and a largely original engine bay and undercarriage. Numbers-matching as verified by the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate with single family ownership from new, the car was initially purchased on February 23th 1970 with a trade-in of a 1963 Triumph TR4.

This desirable 2-seat configuration comes equipped with manual transmission, correct jack in pouch, spare assembly and Michelin white line tires mounted on chrome wire wheels. Notable services performed within the past decade include re-chroming of the bumpers at Martins of Philadelphia, rebuilding of the alternator - carburetors - clutch master/slave cylinders and a radiator re-coring with new hoses. Records accompany.

Today, the car remains very original throughout as a capable "driver" and provides a solid candidate for continued preservation or eventual restoration. Possessing the thrilling driving experience inherent in Jaguar's E-Type with the advantage of more headroom and comfort, the XKE Coupes are rapidly becoming strong investments and desirable enclosed tourers for collector car enthusiasts.

I've bought this car and reimportet it to Europe (Switzerland).
The car was in a desolate state, not at all like described in the add.
It had sever rust and unproffesional accident repairs with loads of bondo. the paintjob was just a spray can joke .

The engine has probably never been cleaned in its life. All dirty and rusty, now undergoing a complete rebuild.

The interior, at least was in an acceptable condition.

Right now the car is't undergoing a total restoration to concours Level.
It should be finisched end of 2014.

I've purcased the car in 2012 from a dealer in Houston, Texas. Since then it's in the process of a total restoration.

It's been a while, since I've wrote any comment her. however, the restauration was successfuly finished to concourse standarts in spring 2019. It was planned for 2014, but unfortunately the substance was so bad, that I've decided to tear appart everything to the last bolt. So then, of course there has been a huge amount of work to be done.

I've taken the freshly restored Jag to a roadtrip last summer from Switzerland all the way up to nordhern Scottland (John O'Groats) and back.

The trip was some 5000 Km (about 3400 Mls) where it performed allways flawless. A great running car. If I figure aout how, I'll post some pictures of the result.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
