This privately entered 1970 Jaguar 4.2 'E' Type fixed head coupe was last owned by Sir John Glyde Walker of Missenden and he kept the car for over 20 years.
It is an original right hand drive car with all matching numbers and it was imported from Jersey in approximately 1972. It has the manual four speed gearbox and an M.O.T. until May of next year. The car is painted in Red and the interior trim is finished in Black and the owner describes the car as being in fair condition throughout.
'E' types are still very reasonable at the moment but that cannot last. It can't be long before they start to edge ever increasingly upwards. Don't wait too long!

1970 Fixed Head Coupe Series 2 , manual with 4.2 ltr motor

Regretful sale of this beautifully maintained 1970 Jaguar E Type FHC Series 2 manual with 4.2 ltr motor finished in original colour combination of Regency Red with Black interior.

You don't find many original un-restored right hand drive E Type FHC with matching numbers every day. Engine no. 7R11521-9 , Chassis no. 1R 20725 , Body no. 4R 23583 , Gearbox no. KE 12763 with original build plate still attached.

Manufactured on 16th March 1970 and fitted with dealer options of rare Webasto Sunroof , Steering Lock , Heated Rear Window & Radio. Note fitted with modern cd player now.

Drives exceptionally well , powerful motor with no oil leaks , reconditioned in 2004 at cost of approximately $12,000 plus stainless steel exhaust fitted and much more then hardly driven doing minimal miles since then due to grandfathers illness.

Resprayed approximately 15 years ago also when motor was reconditioned so the car presents well , draws a lot of attention but has a few scratches and marks and a couple minor rust spots coming out on the bottom of door , rear wheel guard and front top of bonnet near chrome trim on right hand side, please see pictures. Back bumper bar re-chrome and some exterior trim re-chrome work would bring the car up another notch.

The interior is completely original so requires a re-trim at some stage but is presentable and the car will be sold with a lot of brand new OEM parts my grandfather collected to restore the car including new leather for front seats , exterior lights , chrome trim , new rubbers for whole car and more.

I have been told there were only 1071 of these right hand drive , fixed head coupes produced making it one of the lowest production numbers E Types ever made.

This car is amazing to drive , very tight on the road and can be driven anywhere or to Jag and Car Shows as an original classic and have a minor tidy up now and continue to enjoy and in time do a major restoration to concourse condition if so desired but at least you know where you stand with this car.

This is a sentimental sale as both grandparents have passed away now and their house has been sold so this beautiful classic car needs to go to another caring owner to enjoy and cherish.

Offered at a very fair price of $85,500 o.n.o as it requires some cosmetic tidying up and currently insured for $125,000 but as mentioned comes with a lot of new OEM parts and first genuine buyer to inspect will purchase as its a great car to drive.

This E Type is currently registered on SA historic registration which is not transferable and the number plates are not to be sold with the car.
