Car was at auction 9/11
www.bonhams.com/eur/auction/19289/lot/226/

Auction description:
Lot No: 226
1970 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Roadster
Registration no. AHB 408
Chassis no. 1R1624
Engine no. 7R11966-9

Sold for £31,050 inclusive of Buyer's Premium

This Series 2 roadster was previously owned by the Hon Charles Edmund G Ironside of London SW11, who acquired it in October 1998. Purchased by the current vendor in September 1999, this is a very 'honest' example presented in generally good/very good condition, having been kept garaged and looked after by a respected local motor engineer. The E-Type has been used regularly, though a restricted mileage insurance policy has meant that it has not exceeded 3,000 miles annually. A regular attendee at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival Meeting, it comes complete with its original tool kit and handbooks, and is offered with current MoT/tax and Swansea V5. It should be noted that the speedometer - currently displaying a total of 12,000 miles on the odometer - has been changed at sometime.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
