Car to be at auction 7/14

Auction description:
Lot 365 - 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II 4.2 Roadster
Estimate: £40,000 - £48,000
Registration Number: SVR 356H
Chassis Number: 1R11976

This lovely example in Silver with black interior comes with its original manuals and service book with receipts dating back as far as 1975. The present owner bought the car from only its second owner and this model also was the subject of a substantial restoration over the last few years which has resulted in the car being maintained in its current wonderful condition.

This restoration included a respray and re trim and has had a new set of tyres all round fitted, also a new stainless exhaust system. A great example of this iconic marque which is ready to be enjoyed in the summer months ahead. Not to be missed.

'SVR 356H' is a lefthand drive export Series II E-type that dwelt in the USA until earlier this year. A tidy example throughout, it appears to have been finished in Silver from new and retains its original Stromberg-carburetted engine - the Roadster's condition reflects a fair degree of sympathetic restoration throughout. Its accompanying paperwork includes a collection of 1970s invoices from Pontiac Sports Car, Inc. of Michigan on behalf of one-time keeper Sherman Barton. There is also one from Complete Auto restorations, LLC of Michigan on behalf of the last American owner, Edward Anthony Wujek II. This attractive E-Type is one of 7,853 LHD S2 Roadsters produced and is now being offered complete with the aforementioned invoices, Edward Wujek's Certificate Of Title, shipping documents, handbook, service passport, routine maintenance chart, US distributor book, letter from the DVLA regarding the UK registration, V5C and an MOT valid into April of next year.

Car offered at Sportsclassics.co.uk

1970 4.2 Series 2 LHD Roadster.

Chassis number 1R11976 Engine number 7R9681-9

This is a matching numbers car which has enjoyed substantial and sympathetic restoration to a high standard over recent years.

Not your usual common black and red, this car has excellent silver paint and original polished steel wheels. We have also fitted a full set of new Vredestein Classic sports tyres. The odometer shows 75621 miles, which we believe to be correct, due to summer use only. The black interior is fairly new and in excellent condition, the hood being very good also.

This is a wonderful vehicle for European touring; has a new mot, and will be fully serviced prior to sale. With prices ranging from £50k to £185k for this model,we feel our car represents excellent value, to be used and enjoyed as an appreciating asset. It would be difficult to justify spending any money on this car in it's current condition.

Imperial War Museum, Duxford

Lot 31

1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Roadster

Estimated at £55,000 - £65,000

Lot details

Registration No: SVR 356H

Chassis No: 1R11976

MOT: April 2023

78,100 recorded miles and current ownership since 2015

Subject to a rear brake overhaul in 2018

Oil change and fitted with a new battery last year

Offered with owners wallet, handbook and a collection of invoices

Presented here is 'SVR 356H', a left-hand drive export Series II E-type that had resided in the USA until 2014 before being repatriated back into the UK and has been in current ownership since 2015 with the odometer currently displaying just over 78,000 credible miles. Finished in Silver, the interior is an attractively complementing black leather with a vinyl soft-top. Being an export model for the USA, the car has the front and rear protective chrome bumper over-riders and is offered on E-Type wire wheels with knock-off hubs which have been fitted in the current ownership. Retaining its original Stromberg-carburetted engine, the condition of this Roadster reflects a fair degree of remedial work and some restoration over the years and the engine and chassis have the correct numbers. A rear brake overhaul was carried out in 2018 with other work including a new battery and an oil change in 2021 and a new clutch back in 2014.

This attractive E-Type is one of 7,853 LHD S2 Roadsters produced and is now being offered complete with a collection of invoices from its residence in the USA, a collection of old MOTs, an owner's wallet with handbook, shipping documents, routine maintenance chart, US distributor book, letter from the DVLA regarding the UK registration, current V5C and an MOT valid into April of 2023.
