Ebay item 12/12/04

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Current bid $18,100.09 (Reserve not met), 10 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:

One of the best Jags I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

It is a 1970 Series 2 4.2 Roadster in Olde English White with black leather interior.

It has lived it's entire life in California, and has covered just under 64,000 miles since new. Having had a bare metal respray (in the original Olde English White) in 2000, the paint is still excellent. It has never had a spec of rust.

Structural integrity is everything, and this Jag is pristine and original underneath!

All original panels, no patches, just factory sheet metal.

Spare tire well has original paint!

The owner's manual, jack, and hammer are all present. The spare is the ORIGINAL dunlop.

Original tool kit, Jaguar tools as originally supplied. Original top boot, in excellent condition. The original period Phillips radio is fitted.

The supple leather is in perfect shape, no rips, tears, or problems.

The dash top has no cracks, neither does the original console.

The rare passenger foot rest-a neat original peice.

Original door panels, often loose and saggy, are nice and tight on this one.

Inside of the top-frame correctly painted in grey.

Of course, the car is all matching numbers as shown above. The original factory stamped data plate remains.

The 4.2 Litre fires right up and runs beautifully, has excellent compression and good oil pressure. No work needed here.

The under bonnet area is clean and correct as you can see, although not detailed for show.....

The body and paint integrity is all here.

Nice and straight down both sides, and has never suffered an accident. .

Most of the chrome is original and is excellent, with just a bit of patina

This Jag drives like a dream. It is smooth, tight and well sorted.

It literally feels like a new car. The gearbox is quiet, and the suspension and steering are super tight.

A brand new top in the correct British vinyl has been installed and rarely used. (this is Southern California....!).

Paint is excellent, and is an exact color match of the original.

There you go. All this XKE needs is a happy new owner. It is ready to enjoy. Really good XKEs like this don't become available very often, so DON'T MISS IT!! There is a very reasonable reserve on this auction.

Lot #95464

This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was repainted in white before its acquisition by the seller’s mother in 2005, and the interior is upholstered in black leather. Equipment includes 15” wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a black soft top, a louvered hood, chrome bumpers, and twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. This XKE is now offered by the seller on behalf of their mother with manufacturer’s literature, a tool roll, awards, recent service records, and a clean California title.

The body was reportedly stripped and repaired before a repaint in white in approximately 2000. Exterior features include a black soft top, a louvered hood, a driver-side mirror, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders.

Chrome 15” knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were installed in July 2022. A matching spare wheel wearing an older Dunlop tire is stored in the trunk along with a jack and a tool roll. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted units out back. The steering rack bellows and the boots for the outer tie rods and ball joints were replaced in July 2022.

The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leather with perforated inserts as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Additional appointments include an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo and a lockable glove compartment.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, while a clock and auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles, approximately 4k of which have been added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The thermostat was replaced in July 2022, and the alternator is said to have been replaced in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

Manufacturer’s literature, refurbishment photos, awards, and recent service records are included in the sale.

Chassis number 1R11673, the sequence is listed as the VIN on the title prefixed with “J70.”
