Ebay item 6/12/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-/281719498126
Current bid US $24,100.00
Reserve not met 163 bids 6 days left in auction. 87k miles.
Sellers description:
Absolutely beautiful, mechanically excellent, numbers matching, very original including original paint, "NO RUST" 1970 Jaguar E-Type OTS (Open Two Seater), accruing a mere 87,186 original miles in its 45 years of service. Still wearing it's original light blue exterior paint, original dark blue leather interior, and with it's original black hard top and soft blue top (I'm not sure about the originality of the soft top). This car has had extensive mechanical work done but not been cosmetically restored, which brings the much valued patina. You can see the leather on the seats, that although you can see it's original and patina, they are still in very good condition. You can also tell by the original seat belts. With over more than $25k worth of mechanical work done, including all breaking system, suspension, all hoses replaced, engine rebuilt, distributor replaced, new exhausted system, new aluminum radiator, among other things. Basically the car has not been used after the engine rebuilt.
This car will start at the first try, it doesn't leak oil (hard to believe), it does not blow smoke at all of any color, it will not overheat and it will stop as it should. This is not at show car, it's definitely a driver car and I do not intend to give the idea that the car is perfect. There are still areas to improve, mostly cosmetically. Among the things that need to attention are: windshield hose, air conditioning (it was not restorable), carpets (were in very bad shape, so it does not include carpets), among other small cosmetically bits and pieces. All easy fixes, but also an "easy" restoration in case someone would like to have the work done to have this car at show quality.
The car also includes the original full spare wire wheel and tire as well as the original changing tools. The crome is in very good condition as you can tell from the pictures. The paint although is original, it is not in perfect shape but I decided not to paint it in order to keep the car as original as possible but having it in very good mechanically condition to be able to enjoy it. The car also has it's Heritage Trust Certificate confirming all matching numbers.
