Sellers description:
Very nice 1970 series 2 e-type roadster with its matching number 4.2 liter 6 cylinder engine, 4-speed manual fully synchronized manual gearbox, wire wheels and air conditioner. The very attractive color combination of regency red with beige leather interior is original to the car.
A quick inspection and you can tell this car has been loved all its life. Everything matches the Heritage Certificate, engine number and exterior/interior colors. Looking at the engine compartment you can see many of the original Cheney hose clamps and black plastic wiring harness ties, these are indications of a car that never has needed a restoration.
The car was repainted in its original regency red color perhaps 10 years ago. It is a high end paint job that looks very nice. The body panels are straight and with very good gaps. The best part of this car is the body structure as it is rust free and I cannot detect any metal work ever being done on the car. It is rare to find an e-type with an untouched body that is still in excellent condition. Mechanically the engine is very strong with great oil pressure. The full synchronized gearbox shifts smoothly. All the gauges are working with the exception of the clock. The car has the optional factory air conditioner. The AC turns on but will most likely need a freon charge, it has been too cold to test. The front suspension was just serviced and new motor mounts installed. The exhaust is stainless steel.
The interior was restored in its original beige color using correct patterns and materials. The convertible top is black canvas and is in very good condition. The car even has its original Philips AM/FM/SW radio, which works.
Includes the jack in the bag, knock off hammer and tool, boot cover, owner's manual, Heritage Certificate, lubrication chart and service manual.
I purchased the car in Greenville, South Carolina from its third owner. It appears the car was sold new in Greenville. This car is one of those rare cars that has been in the hands of a few caring owners for 43 years and never abused.
