Car currently listed on EBay:

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Description: Jaguar : XKE convertible
1969 Jaguar XKE 4.2 Roadster *NO RESERVE AUCTION*

Miles: 5000 Doors: 2 doors or more
Transmission: Manual Interior: Beige/Tan
Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1969
VIN Number: J691R10887 Exterior: White

Vehicle Condition:
INDEPENDENT APPRAISAL OF CONDITION & PERFORMANCE

* Engine - only 5,000 miles on it with high compression, smooth, starts easily
* Transmission - only 5,000 on it and very sound, shifts well. No unusual noise
* Drive train - new & solid
* Suspension - tight, good front and rear.
* Tires - very good, new rears, good fronts
* Steering - very good, tight
* Body- very good condition, straight, good fit
* Finish - very good repaint, shows some use, a couple of small un-noticeable dings
* Paint - nice cream, repainted some time ago, excellent job, one small paint bubble on hood... cannot be seen unless very close to it
* Any noticeable flaws - the couple of flaws mentioned above
* Rust repairs - no noticeable rust repairs, car very sound
* Weather seals - are still in good condition
* Chrome - very good
* Glass - very good condition
* Interior - driver seat shows little sign of wear... Passenger seat, same; both protected by sheepskins
* Dash - dash face very nice, dash pads very good condition, gauges all working
* AM/FM stereo radio/cassette
* Switches - are all in tact
* Directional signals - in tact
* Lamps - all in tact
* Brake system - very good brakes
* Top - Chocolate color and in new condition, very nice Stay-Fast top
* Driveability - this XKE drives very well, it is a get in and go car
* "perfectly restored"
* Impressions - this Jag has been very well maintained, it shows some very small signs of age. However, this is not a show car, if it were the cost would be in the $50,000 to $60,000 range. This is a very nice driver, well above most XKEs in use. I would not have any fear of getting in this Jag and driving thousands of miles on a trip, just as it is. A good value.

With 6 days 14 hours left on the auction there have been 14 bids to a figure of US $19,200.00

Current bid $20,100 reserve not met, 12 bids, 4 days left in auction. Car now located in Knoxville, Tennessee. Buy it now price $32,900.

Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE Series II Roadster. The car spent its life in Palm Springs and then San Diego until I purchased it on eBay in 2003. In the past 5 years I have put approximately 1,000 miles on the car cruising or going to some local car shows.

The car was painted and mechanically overhauled in the mid 90”s according to the previous owner and is a solid rust free fun car to drive. I recently disassembled and painted the car to its new stunning red color. New weather-stripping was installed at that time. It has an attractive convertible top with a small 1” tear. The seat covers are solid with good color. The interior leather trim is in fair shape but the carpets are worn and should be replaced. To make it a show car you could spend another $2,000 - $3,000 or just drive it and watch it appreciate as I have. I recently changed the spark plug wires, cap, rotor, oil and filter.

Flaws with the car are as follows: The oil pressure gauge does not work but I have a new gauge that goes with the car. The headlight switch shorted out and melted the wires and will need replacing and wiring repair. One wiper arm is broken and one is missing. The car could use another buffing after the paint cures for 30 days. The bumpers are getting dull and could be re-chromed. The lighting and wiper issue were never a concern to me since the car is only driven on nice sunny days.

I have original jack / tools as shown in photo. I also have original articles about the car published in the late 60’s and the original owner’s manual.

I personally feel the car is well worth $35,000 or more but have made the ‘Reserve’ a great deal for someone wanting to own a piece of history. This is a very nice ‘Driver’ condition car and not a ‘Concourse Show Queen’. It will need some TLC and electrical repairs as with most British cars.
