This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I 2+2 example finished in gray over black leather upholstery and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes triple SU carburetors, 16″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, an aluminum radiator, a vented hood, a side-opening rear hatch, and a cabin heater. The car reportedly underwent a mechanical refresh in 2009 under previous ownership after the car was removed from long-term storage, and it was acquired by the seller in California. Service in anticipation of the sale reportedly consisted of rebuilding the carburetors along with replacing the water pump, coolant hoses, and fluids. This XKE Series I is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in gray and features a louvered clamshell hood, a side-hinged rear hatch, recessed headlights, vented rear quarter windows, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Blemishes are noted on the front fender and on the cowl near the hood seal.
Aftermarket chrome 16″ wire wheels feature two-eared knockoffs and are mounted with 215/55 Hankook Ventus V2 Concept2 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black leather with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include a heater, a center armrest, hand-crank side windows, and Porsche-branded lap belts.
The three-spoke steering wheel with a stitched-on cover frames an inoperative 160-mph speedometer and tachometer. Supplementary gauges are situated within the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles, and the total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque when new. An aluminum radiator with an electric fan has been added. The seller claims the engine was overhauled under previous ownership, and service in anticipation of the sale reportedly consisted of rebuilding the carburetors along with replacing the water pump, coolant hoses, and fluids.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The VIN on the current California title reads J671E77518BW, while the data plate reads 1E77518BW.
