Car listed on EBay
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Jaguar : XKE
Very Late Series I E-Type 2+2
Miles: 65891 Doors: 2 doors
Transmission: Manual Interior: Black
Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1967
VIN Number: 1E77367 Exterior: Yellow
Vehicle Description: Car was originally purchased August 8, 1967 from the BMC Dealer in Portland. From 1976 until my purchase (April 2001) the car covered only 1,143 miles. "Time warp" is an overused phrase, but truly applicable here. The pale primrose paint appears original, and is very shiny. If it is not original, it is at least pre 1976. The panel gaps are excellent, and just as they left the factory. There is no evidence of collision damage in the bonnet mouth or in the tail. The chrome is all original, shiny, and has no pitting. There is not a rust bubble anywhere on this car. Even the trunk floor is clean and completely corrosion free. The seats and console have a nice patina as one would expect from such a well preserved car. The headliner, sun visors, door panels, dash, and gauges are almost like new. As a late Series I car it has open headlights, Tri-Carbs, toggle switches, curly hubs, etc. Other features include:
* Numbers Match
* Original Data Plate
* New Header Tank
* New Cooling Hoses
* New Water Pump
* Radiator Rodded
* New Fan Belt
* Tri-Carbs Rebuilt
* Gas Tank Flushed
* Brake Master Rebuilt
* Brake Lines Flushed
* Major Tune-up
* Valves & Timing Chain Adjusted
* New Battery
* New Tires P205/75 R15
* Rare Factory Heated Rear Window
* Perfect Original Steering Wheel
* Original Radio
Vehicle Condition: Starts easily and idles smoothly at 750 rpm. Oil pressure is 40 @ 3000 rpm when hot. Power is excellent. Transmission is silent, shifts well, including downshifting into 2nd. Clutch has no judder and makes no noise. Minor oil leaks- a few drips after a good run, but no puddles. Just a tight, solid, original drivetrain. There is an intermittant squeek in the RF suspension- probably a ball joint. Everything works, including horn, wipers, turn signals, high beams, interior lights, etc. Car comes with the original Dunlop RS5 spare tire, and the original steering wheel (not the Nardi shown in the picture). If you like originality you know how rarely you come across a car like this these days. If you went down to your BMC dealer in 1971 looking for a nice used E-Type this is what you would have found.
