Owner of car is my sister, Patricia Lutter. I am taking care of it for her. Car was purchased by Patricia, used, in Los Angeles in 1968. Asof Jan 3, 2004 it has 46,600 actual miles. Driver's seat leather badly torn..other than that it can be described as a shopworn crampuff.

A little history on this car: It has never been restored. It is just a nice looking old car. Most everything is original except for the paint. It had to be repainted about 5 years ago when vandals threw two buckets of housepaint on it. What a mess! The spare tire and the insides of the doors still have some of this paint on them. The tailpipes are made of food-grade stainless steel.

This car is not Cotswold blue, which is very unusual on E types. It is Opalescent Silver Blue

Current bid $8,600 reserve not met, 4 bids 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $25,000. 48k miles.

Sellers description:
1966 Jaguar E Type, XKE 2+2 Series 1 (4.2 liter) FHC.

Car number 1E75589BW, Engine number 7E50685-9, Auto transmission EJ10955, Body number 4E50638.

Originally a California car. Now a Wisconsin car but NEVER driven in winter. Seldom driven in rain. Truly rust-free, never restored, 2-owner car with 48,330 original miles. My sister purchased it in California in 1968 while living there.

Reason for selling: At age 86 she'd rather drive the Buick.

Torsion bars recalibrated (2008).

Engine in good shape. At 90 mph I let off the gas because I'm afraid to go any faster with these old tires.

New (2008) stainless steel complete exhaust system. Labels are still on.

Has original tire jack and tire tools.

Spare tire and rim plus additional chrome spoke rim.

Includes books, repair manual and some repair invoices.

Tachometer probably needs a new sender.

Side-view mirror broken.

Clock does not work.

Needs driver-side floor mat.

Has never been in an accident.

Needs a new sun visor on passenger side.

Some rattles but wouldn't YOU rattle if you were 45 years old?

1-2 dash light bulbs are burned out.

The headliner is stained in one spot.

Original engine has never been overhauled. This Spring after sitting in the garage all winter, I attached a booster battery and it started after 7 seconds of cranking!

Car was re-painted its original color 30 years ago after vandals threw a bucket of paint on it.

I hope the buyer has as much enjoyment as we have had with Mi Gato!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
