Sellers description:
1966 jaguar xke E type 2+2. You are bidding on a 1966 jaguar xke in perfect condition. I just recently purchased this car from a retired judge. Driving home from work I seen this car in the driveway with a 4 sale sign. I stopped and inquired about this car and found that the owner was a retired judge moving to florida . He had owned this car for twenty years and was his weekend warrier. The previous owner stated he had owned the car for the last 20 yrs and had spent over 20,000 in restoration in the time he had owned the vehicle. The exterior color is navy blue laquer and grey leather interior. The interior is flawless with no rips or wear signs visible. The paint is in need of being rubbed out as the laquer is starting to crack. The owner stated he had the car painted 15 yrs ago with 20 layers of laquer and the laquer paint is now starting to blister. The odemeter reads 14,577 miles. I asked the judge if this milage was original and he stated no. He told me he had the engine completely rebuilt in 1999 by english motors. He gave me the receipts from this company that did the work and the receipts show $2,800.00 in parts and labor. He stated that he had the odometer turned back to 0 milage when the engine was rebuilt. He has given me all the receipts from the day he has owned this car and this car has wanted for nothing. His receipts total over 20,000.he had spent . I purchased this car from him at a good price and am selling this car at no reserve with a very modest starting bid. If you search the NADA values of this car you will see it falls in the range between 35,000-41,000. The 35,000 value is what they call a 20' vehicle. Every thing looks good from 20' away. This car shows perfect from 5 feet away. The chrome is excellent it drives perfectly .The 4 speed manual trans shifts smoothly and runs like a top.The day I picked the car up from the previous owner he stated the car has not been in the rain in over 20 years. The day we picked up the car it started to rain he wanted us to wait at his house until the rain stopped. It truly was his baby and I am sure he would like it to be owned buy a true collector. It truly is a collector car and will make someone very happy.
