This entry is based on the VIN they give for the carfax link.

Current bid $25,000.00 (Reserve not met), 10 bids, 5 days left in auction. Sellers location Hot Springs, Virginia, USA.

Sellers description:
1966 Jag XKE Convertible

This car is a true classic. 4.2L straight six with only five thousand miles since complete restoration. It drives like a dream and is wickedly fast. The color. as one of my friends so aptly described, is "speeding ticket red". This car was the fourth 2+2 built in 1966. It has been modified to a Roadster using what I understand was a "factory kit". I'm tall and the extra room of the 2+2 helped. All XKE's in the later years of thier production run were based on the 2+2 chassis. This car has the features any Jag enthusiasts would want: covered headlights, 4-speed manual, 4.2L engine, chrome wire wheels and built before all the emission equipment robbed them of thier power. I've never driven a car that went from 55 to 95 faster and still be in fourth gear (no downshift - just pedal to the floor). I bought the car from St. Louis Motor Group, a high-end dealer in St. Louis MO. This car came from Arizona. Bidders are welcome to come and inspect the car. You will not be disappointed.

As with any 39-year old British car it is not perfect. There a a few minor blemishes in the paint. You have to look very, very close to find them. It starts easily, runs smooth and offers a level of performance and enjoyment that only a true British sports car lover will understand. If you have been in the market for an XKE you will deem this one of the best you've seen for sale. It's as close to car show level as anyone would want. I hope the next owner won't make it a "trailer queen", it's meant to drive and be enjoyed. Just as I have done. Buy it today and be ready for all the beautiful springs weather ahead.

There is something odd about this car. The windshield rake is wrong for a 2+2 and there are no rear seats. If it was chopped it was a superb job. It looks like a standard roadster that has the wrong identity plate.

No, this is (was) obviously a 2+2. Just look at the length of the doors! I spotted this immediately without even reading the description.

As of December 2006, car has new tan interior from previous black. Brand new tan top and tonneau cover. Car is actually a 2+2 roadster factory conversion-which means the doors are about 8 inches longer than standard, allowing more leg room. A definite driver that runs very smoothly.
