I live in Perth, Western Australia, with my wife Moira and mother of our four adult children (all married off). My passion with Jaguars started as a 10 year old admiring a neighbours early MK2, in Gisborne, New Zealand. I bought an immaculate 65 Mk2 3.4 MOD (167410DN), when I was about 20. After many other Jags in between, this Mk2 followed us to Australia and had a concourse restoration completed a few years ago, ready for several family weddings. I have a number of classic Jags, including the Series 1 (restored) and a Series 3 E Type undergoing restoration at present. Now semi retired, I enjoy repairing cars with my boys and share their interests in classic cars. We have learnt over many years to tackle most repairs ourselves. We do not lack too much equipment to do so, including a low bake booth. My passion for these classics was restored rebuilding my Mk2, which is much admired when it is out and about. "You might think my car is a classic, but my real treasure is in Heaven".

Opening bid $8,000, no reserve, no bids yet 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1967 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Series 1, Right Hand Drive, 4.2 Liter, Automatic Transmission. I purchased this Jaguar 2 years ago from a local Jaguar collector. He owned it for 10 years. My intent was to restore it. However I never found the time. It needs a good home, a little work to drive, and an easy restoration. The engine runs strong but one of the floats gets stuck. Carbs should be gone over. The Transmission shifts properly. The Brakes are fine. The Exhuast has no leaks. The tires have plenty of tread left. All Gauges, Lights, and Electronics are working. The Car is solid, aside from very little surface rust in a few places. The interior is intact but needs carpet or rubber mats. It has a factory installed rollback roof/sunroof (very rare). Optional Borg Warner Transmission.

This car is off to Perth, Western Australia for a solid restoration, along with 1S50362 for a immaculate restoration and will be added to a family collection of classic Jags.

Great basis for restoration. Has had sills & rear panel replaced in the past, not a good job, otherwise solid. Has very few uglys, lot of good things for a 40+ used car. Restoration planned after 1S50362.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
