Car was at auction 10/17
www.brightwells.com/classic-motoring/general-information/classic-vintage-past-re ...

Auction description:
Lot number 74
Sale Price Not Sold
Make & Model Jaguar E-Type S1 4.2 2+2 Coupe
Registration FSR 765D
Year 1966
Colour Old English White
Engine Size 4,200 cc
Chassis No. 1E 50443
Engine No. 7E 52265-9
V5c ; Some receipts for work done over the years ; Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate

This Series 1 4·2 2+2 Coupé has spent nearly all its life in "the land of the mountain and the flood" (Scotland, of course) and was first registered in Dundee in September 1966. It has had only three registered keepers, including the vendor and it is believed that it may never have been out of Scotland. Let us hope that the SNP do not try to claim it as a National Treasure and snatch it back.

The vendor has owned the car for over eight years and believes that it was restored, in his words, "roughly ten years ago", by which he means it was restored about ten years ago, as opposed to having been restored roughly (which can happen, it appears).

That the restoration of this Jaguar was not rough can be deduced from the fact that in the eight years or so that the vendor has owned the car he has had little more to do than routine servicing and that, earlier this year, it completed a trouble-free 500-mile trip round the North Coast of Scotland on the imaginatively named North Coast 500 rally.

The vendor has enjoyed driving the car and admits that it is not concours but it is a sound, genuine, useable E-Type and will appeal to those who believe that cars are for driving.

Sold with V5C, MOT to August 2018 (no advisories), Heritage Certificate and bills.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
