Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 1 PETROL MANUAL 1964/4
Sunroof, Full Leather, Late series 1 - chassis number 1E34474, one of the last 100 series 1 cars made before the later series 1.5.

The Jaguar E-Type is a classic British sports car combining both beauty and performance. This is an original example series 1 Jaguar 4.2 complete with wire wheels. This 1964 model has completed 51,417 miles and has had 4 previous owners. This original vehicle is prime for restoration and an excellent investment.

Note : tis car appears to be mis-described since it clearly is a Series 1.5 car e.g. S2 bonnet and therefore must be later than 1964

F/S in JEC Magazine Jan 2016 p.125 confirms 1967 which accords with chassis number

I bought the car as a driver and intend to drive it a lot! It's quite scruffy but a very original/honest 11/4, converted to RHD, with 51,000 miles showing, and having sadly only done 1500 of those miles in the last 15 years. The car is structurally rust free and the paint is shiny but poorly prepared and the bottom of both doors are blowing slightly. I don't have a heritage certificate yet, but looking at other similar numbered cars I think it was built in June/July 1967, just before the American engines converted to Strombergs.

I needed to change the clutch, so whipped the engine out, then decided the engine frames needed painting and the wiring was a little tatty. So I took the engine frames off, but found one corner rusted.....so striped the whole car.
Its now january 2018 and the car is nearly ready to go for a full soda blast in Wolverhampton. The overall condition is very good. There is virtually no evidence of body damage, and almost all the interior (apart from new floors, cills and rear mudguards) is in the original British Racing Green.
The car will be repainted in the current Carmen Red,
Estimated completion 2019 - lets see....!

The car is now fully stripped and coming slowly back together. ETA winter 2020......engine, gearbox and diff all being rebuilt. Body in very slow but careful paintshop, having been soda blasted and then carefully welded - not much rot. Mostly original car. Paint - opalescent green with red interior - similar to original..... going to be fab.

Car now nearly complete. Its running and I'm just finishing off all those annoying jobs before running it in then getting it trimmed by Mick and Chris Turley. I'll add some pictures.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
