Opening bid $10,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. 16k miles.
Sellers description:
4.2 litre dual overhead cam 6 cylinder with 3-SU carbs and 4 speed manual transmission. ‘67 is the last year for the Series 1 E types, which had the covered headlamps, knock-off wheel lugs and dashboard toggle switches. I have owned this E type for almost 20 years. I bought it from a GM dealership in Central Iowa in February of 1988. This car was owned by the dealer’s brother-in-law who lived in Colorado, where the car had spend most of its life. The original motor had been replaced with the exact same 4.2 litre motor that had come from a wrecked E type. The original motor came with the car, which I had intended to rebuild and put back in the car. When I took the original motor apart, I discovered the the #3 piston had broken, but that there was minimal damage to the rest of the motor. I had all parts cleaned, new sleeves installed in the block, turned and balanced the crank shaft, balanced all rotating clutch parts, and had the cylinder head ported, polished and flowed by Leo Goff in Memphis, TN. (the main mechanic for Dobbs Ford race team). I have all the parts to reassemble the original motor, new std. Hepolite pistons and rings, gaskets, bearings, etc. The car starts and runs okay with the motor that is in it now. The clutch slips under acceleration and the carbs need tuning. Everything works except the tachometer, temp. gauge and radio. There is some rust on the bottom rear under the spare tire compartment and some beginning stages of rust bubbles on the lower door panels. It has the original wire wheels with 18S-15X Redline Michelin tires. Car comes with the original owner’s manual and 2 workshop manuals. This car is titled in my name hand has been since Feb. 1988. VIN is 1E34017 Body # is 4E25522 Engine # that is in the car now is 7R9264-9.

I bought this car on eBay in Oct 2007 and began the restoration immediately thereafter. It came with the original engine and gearbox in pieces. At the time is was added to this site it was described as a nice driver which was a total lie but it is more than nice now and should be completely restored by year end.

This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that is said to have spent time in Colorado and Iowa prior to its acquisition in 2007 by the current owner, who commissioned a subsequent refurbishment. The car is finished in Opalescent Gunmetal Grey over red leather upholstery, and power is provided by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include an aftermarket AM/FM CD stereo, triple SU carburetors, glass headlight covers, four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rears, and chrome knock-off wire wheels. This XKE is being offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a tool kit, manufacturer’s literature, photos from the refurbishment, and a clean Missouri title in the name of the owner’s trust.
The car was stripped to bare metal and underwent repairs to the driver-side rear quarter panel prior to a repaint in its current shade of Opalescent Gunmetal Grey during the refurbishment. Exterior features include a louvered hood, glass headlight covers, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Paint cracks, rock chips, scratches, and an area of blistering are noted by the seller and can be seen up close in the gallery below.
Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A full-size spare is found in the rear storage area. Braking is through four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears.
The cabin houses seats trimmed in red leather with matching door panels, carpets, and a black dashboard. Equipment includes lap belts for both occupants, Jaguar-branded black rubber floor mats, toggle switches for vehicle functions, and an aftermarket push-button AM/FM CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges in the center stack. The five-digit odometer was reset to zero during the refurbishment and now shows approximately 10k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors and was rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque when new. A CoolCat electric fan has been installed. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
