Stunning 4.2 Liter Fixed Head Coupe in Spectacular Original Colors 1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe s/n 1E33457 engine no. 7E10212 Opalescent Dark Green with Suede Green Interior. This particular car is a matching numbers example of 4.2 liter Series I, widely considered to be the best iteration of the E-type from its fourteen year production run. This car is a superb sympathetically restored example that remains in its stunning original color combination. It comes with its original order sheet, indicating that the car was ordered in this remarkable color combination, and with chrome wire wheels, whitewall tires, and tinted glass. It was originally delivered to a gentleman in Detroit, and currently wears restored Michigan license plates from 1967. Since then, the car has been well-kept, with many years of service records to indicate that the indicated mileage of 40,290 is original. The car also comes with its original warrantee booklet, and service records back to the mid 1990`s. In 2005, the car had the rear end removed and rebuilt, all new brake components, and a tune-up. While the rear end was out, the bushings were also replaced, the bump stops replaced, and the shock absorbers replaced. The fuel system was also serviced, including the tank and electric fuel pump. The car has seen a recent exterior restoration to high standards and is in stunning condition. The paintwork was done to high standards, and the body is very straight and rust-free. The chrome is also excellent, with pitting on the left tail light housing only. It is otherwise in stunning as new condition. The glass and lamps are excellent as well, with a few light scratches to the windscreen, which retains its Triplex laminated sticker. The interior has not been restored and is wonderfully preserved. The leather has just the right amount of patina, and the carpets, while aged, are not worn through and remain serviceable. The dashboard is absolutely spectacular, and could easily pass for having been restored. The instruments and switches show almost no signs of wear, and all of the trim and panels are present, well-aligned, and in excellent condition. The speedometer even retains its trip meter reset warning sticker. The vinyl trim elsewhere is in fine shape, though there are a couple cracks on the right armrest. The rear compartment is also excellent and appears to have seen little use. Present with the car are the small tools in their rool, knock-off hammer, and jack with bag. The engine compartment is very clean and has been detailed to high standards. It is clear that considerable time was spent to make the engine compartment attractive, with areas such as the inside of the engine lid and the suspension receiving attention. The underside has been selectively restored and is very solid, if not detailed for show. It is also very clean. This is a terrific opportunity to acquire a cosmetically stunning but fundamentally unmolested E-Type coupe. The sympathy of the restoration is unique and differentiates this car from the mass of cars that are either too rough to use *or* so perfect as to lack personality. This car has been thoughtfully kept to ensure that much of the original car could be left alone, and this car would make a wonderful example to actually use, particularly because of its practicality. The car is also very complete, with tools, jack, original handbook, purchase order, warranty brochure, and many thousands of dollars in receipts. E-Type coupes have appreciated considerably in recent years, and will likely continue to do so as more people become privy to their stylish and evocative motoring experience.
