Car was at SCM auciton 1/14/00 at Fountain HIlls, Arizona, USA.
Description:
73k miles, open headlamps, aftermarket steering wheel. Odd ripple in right front fender behind headlight, paint has an odd sheen. New seat upholstery but original headrest coverings, passengers door panel coming apart. Condition 3. Sold at $11,948. Their comment: So what happened to the covered headlights?? The 4.2 S1 coupes are the most comfortable, best performing of all the E-types. This was a good buy.

This STUNNING XKE COUPE hails from New Mexico.The last owner went to Jaguar Heaven (as if owning this car was not Jaguar heaven), the car sat since 2009. We revived the car with little effort, the numbers matching engine #7E18154-9 runs as smooth as a well oiled sewing machine, very smooth,easy start, with strong torque. The suspension is tight, clutch and brakes good.
Unfortunately we cannot speak with previous owner but all indication was the car had a complete restoration, everything is nice, well sorted, tight,and in order.Gauges are clean, crisp and work as designed,all lights and electrical work properly. The engine is not wet underneath and does not smoke on start up or during acceleration. Transmission is tight with good synchros.Headliner is tight, dash cap is void of cracks, seats are in good order as is the carpets.Chrome is brilliant, void of scratches and dents.
Tires are deep in tread. Body gaps and panel fit are excellent with straight panels.
