Stunning 1965 jaguar E Type Coupe. I have owned this car for 3 years and have put over $10,000 into it, including an bare metal repaint in 2006-2007. Paint shines like mad. Very small chip at rear hatch opening, very, very small scuff on the bonnet, both are hard to noticed . No dents or door dings. The car has an earlier E Type engine, a previous owner had installed a 3.8 engine and gearbox. My intentions were to restore it to a 4.2, however once carburetors were rebuilt and timing was set the car ran so well I left in the higher revving 3.8. I did pick up an original 4.2 full syncro gearbox however, and will include this with the sale. It currently has the slower shifting moss box. New ceramic headers were installed this year and look and sound great. A new electric fan and switch work great in keeping the engine cool. Last christmas I got new Dayton wheels and Vrendenstein Classic tires. There are about 500 miles on them. Excellent spare wheel and tire also. The brakes work great, they have been completely rebuilt, including new Master cylinder, rebuilt calipers, new pads, de-glazed rotors, new reaction valve and rebuilt servo. The interior is in very nice condition, I redid the seats with leather covers from Moss. New headliner and visors installed. The dash has the earlier (and I think much nicer) dot pattern aluminum console, which I installed last year. It also has a nice working Becker AM FM radio. Carpets are decent, vinyl trim could stand redoing, previous owner recovered in black, original color was red. Smaller steering wheel was installed, gauges and electrics work well. Windshield washers do not work, I haven't gotten around to fixing them. Other items include new fuel pump, mallory dual point distributor, upgraded headlamps, rebuilt heater with replaced in dash heater pipes. new motor mounts, all new rubber seals. Probably many more small items I have forgotten. I will include a bottle jack, knock off hammer and all my repair manuals. The car is a beautiful example of one of the most beautiful cars ever built. I turns heads and stops traffic everywhere. I have a modest reserve on this car and invite personal inspection, and will be happy to take you for a ride. I live in Chambersburg, Pa. You can call be between noon-10 am EST with questions. 717 398-6061. Very honest seller with nothing to hide. Check my feedback, bid with confidence. US bidders only please, Scammers don't waste your time.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
