Two owners, excellent original, matching numbers. This Jaguar E type Series 1 4.2 litre left hand drive fixed head coupe was produced on 16th October and dispatched on 16th November 1964 to the United States where it was sold to its first owner. In 1992 the car was imported into Italy by the second owner who has owned the car until now. It is a carefully preserved, unrestored example that has been regularly overhauled, serviced and refreshed. The 155th LHD 4.2 litre produced . It is still in its original colour combination, Opalescent Silver Grey with Red interior, and original matching numbers engine and gearbox. It has a Jaguar Heritage certificate, FIVA passport and ASI certificate.
During the last 26 years the owner has used the car regularly for historic car meetings, regularity trials and long marathons. The engine, suspension and electrical system receive regular maintenance, the paint was refreshed in the 1990's whist the interior has been partly refurbished and is partly original. Being one of the first 4.2 litre first series it retains the headlight lenses and tail lights over the bumper. It is not a 'flat floor' while the engine is the 4.2 litre evolution of the 3.8 litre six cylinder engine, giving more torque and elasticity. The gearbox is all synchro and the car is equipped with all round Dunlop disc brakes and limited slip differential. The car was built for the United States market but this model is to the same spec as European cars.
