For sale 1968 JAGUAR E-TYPE

£68,000

www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/detail/motors/classic-cars/jaguar/etype/128110

Chassis number:1E-2154

Engine Number: 7E 18167-9

Transmission: Manual 4 speed.

Registration: VPF249G

Manufactured in 1968.

Here's an affordable way into E Type ownership. With interest and prices of this iconic motor car on a permanent increase, we are pleased to offer this fine series 1.5 roadster.

You'll see from the Heritage certificate that the car is an original 1968 1.5 OTS - one of the last we believe before they switched to the less attractive series 2 and 3.

This E-Type has been kept in a heated garage as soon as the weather turned wintery each year, at no point in the owners tenure has the car lived outside.

The car has benefited from a full service at regular intervals (circa every 1000 miles or at the start of the summer season), including regular tuning of the carbs.

Minor bodywork commensurate with the age of the vehicle has been undertaken by the owner including removing spots of surface rust around the wheel arches, rear tub, and edges of bonnet.

The exterior was originally finished in old English White but is now painted in an attractive series 3 V12 silver finish. The interior includes a period style modern radio with iPod jack.

New chrome work has recently been fitted along with new laminated windscreen.

To the inside is original black leather with matching black carpets (a new set will be fitted on sale) all trim being in good order. The drivers seat has benefited from a recent mechanism rebuild.

The car boasts an extensive collection of invoices testimony to its having been loved and properly looked after and includes most if not all MoT certificates from its life.

The car has attended many classic car shows in its current ownership including the Goodwood revival and the EFG stand at Wilton classic and super car show.

Under the bonnet the car is very original and in fine order but could do with detailing to bring the engine bay up to match the exterior. The engine starts readily and pulls strongly in all gears.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
