    Sold at H&H Auctions Pavillion Garden Buxton estimate £18000-£20000 hammer price £19250 Engine # 7E 9358-9 Year 1966 Reg # 546 FUG

    Overview

This E-Type, a right-hand drive Series 1 4.2 coupe, first left the Browns Lane works in 1966 and was acquired by the first and titled owner Sir Rex Arthur Lewis Cohen KBE OBE, who features in the 1980 edition of Who's Who and whose ownership is recorded in the history file. According to the entrant, there have only been two further owners during the past twenty-two years, while original logbook and workshop manual as well as cherished registration 546 FUG are also included, as are service receipts detailing over ú30,000 worth of work carried out over the years. Monocoque, chassis frame, fixed head bodywork, blue paintwork, black leather, electrics, 4.2-litre motor and four-speed manual gearbox are all reportedly in good order, says the vendor, who rates this taxed and tested GT as being superb both inside and out.

Sold by Classic Motor Cars of Bridgnorth in January 2020. Seller's description below.
    www.classic-motor-cars.co.uk/classic-cars-for-sale/jaguar-e-type-42-series-1-fhc ...

Series 1 E Type FHC. Original UK vehicle dispatched by Henlys London. This car remains in its original colour combination of Dark Blue with Black interior. It retains its original engine, cylinder head and gearbox meaning it is a fully matching numbers example. This 4.2 FHC has only had 6 previous owners from new, all of which can be named. The original green logbook is present. This very original car has always resided in England and all history dating back to 1982 is present, included in the history file are the original handbooks supplied with the car when new.

The 4.2 litre engine was fully rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago and performs very well. Aside from much needed electronic ignition, cooling upgrades and 4 pot brakes, this 4.2 E Type is to completely original UK specification, often said to be the best E Type driving experience of them all. The Black leather has aged well over the years and adds originality to the car, the Dark Blue exterior is not without marks of wear, but presents nicely after more than 50 years. This rare original RHD matching numbers car would be a great E Type not only to be proud of but enjoyed.
