Advertised for sale on carsales .com.au 1 June 2017, asking AUD$225,000. Advertisement has 66 photos. Seller's description: "This particular car is chassis number 1E2112 with engine number 7E17718-8. The Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms this factory RHD example was manufactured on the 6th June 1968 with a date of dispatch of 20th August 1968. The original distributor is noted as Jaguar Cars Ltd and the original dealer is noted as Personal Export Delivery. The car's original colour scheme was British racing green with a tan interior and black soft top. The first owner is noted as Mr IA Thompson and the car was registered in the UK as NKV487G (Coventry). Accompanying this car is the book set which includes the Jaguar Manufacturers Warranty Card, Service Book and some interesting period documentation. All this confirms that Mr Thompson's delivery address was Mount Hagen, Western Highlands in the Territory of New Guinea. The car was registered in the UK as Thompson obviously wanted to use it there before export. The service book notes the car being serviced by Henleys in Bournemouth on the 5th September 1968 (1,123 miles) and again some two weeks later by James G Mutch (Motors) Limited in Aberdeen on the 20th September 1968 (3,019 miles) all suggesting Mr Thompson was enjoying a driving holiday around the UK in his new Jaguar! There is formal documentation on file noting the car was exported from the UK on the 31st January 1969 and it arrived into Lae in Papua New Guinea on the 1st February 1969. The next entry in the service book is by Bryson Industries in Adelaide on the 23rd October 1970 (6,172 miles) which confirms the car remained in PNG for a short time. The car went to Melbourne in late 1972 / early 1973 and has remained there since with the service book stamped through until the 10th December 1999 by Downshire Motors in east Malvern at 65,420 miles. Post this entry (the service book was full!) there are numerous receipts on file for regular maintenance and servicing of the car by Jaguar specialists. The car looks to have had one very long term owner through until 2004 when the car last changed hands. This E-Type is quite unique in that it is a very original and unrestored example, presented today in its original and stunning colour combination of British racing green with a tan interior. Its hard to find them like this and it mileage of 87263 miles is genuine, confirmed by the substantial service records and history of the car. The paintwork has a high gloss and is generally very good. It is understood to be original though it has clearly had a number of touch ups over the years. There are stone chips and defects consistent with a very original car that has been used. Structurally the car looks to be very good. There is no rust evident in the body and the car looks very clean and solid underneath. The panel gaps are generally good and all of the exterior trim and lenses are in good condition. The wire wheels are also very good and the car is sitting on Michelin 185 x 15 tyres. The interior also looks to be totally original and very well preserved. It is in very good condition for its age, there are no rips or tears in the upholstery and everything looks to be correct and in working order. The leather has recently been subject to a recolour (in its original tan) giving the interior a lift without losing any of its patina. The condition of the soft top is very good, consistent with the rest of the car. The car is currently fitted with a 15 Motolita steering wheel and the original steering wheel also accompanies the car. The car starts easily and the engine settles into a smooth idle. Once warm back off the choke and the car is off and running. In summary it drives well and does everything one would expect out on the open road. It's nimble, light and very responsive . . . and this car has a fabulous exhaust note!
