Heritage sheet shows that the car was first registered ELL 791C, the V5C shows that it has had its current registration of ELC 791C since 1978. As they are so close perhaps a typo in re-registration maybe?
Car heavily modified and original engine and gearbox not present (would love to find them!)
Most likely a Modsports racer then returned to the road in 1978 as a custom modified road car. Work done to a very high standard.
Known as 'Gilda' and pictured in Paul Skilleter's 1978 Jaguar Drivers Club yearbook, though not many details known.
Now in need of complete restoration.
Any info great fully received!

I saw this exact car sat in Beaulieu Garage in 2022, in very much a “barn find” state, the interior being in pieces and no windscreen. I have pictures if anyone is interested

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
