This superb E-Type Roadster GT began life as a 4.2-liter Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe before its radical modernization by Auto Sauer, which involved an estimated 2,000 hours of labor and exceeded € 300,000 in total. The aim of the project was to preserve the unmistakable E-Type driving experience while faithfully bringing the legend into the 21st Century with modern mechanicals. The remarkable transformation began with extending the track via wider aluminum knock-off wheels modeled on the original Dunlops wrapped in modern Avon CR6ZZ radial tires, which necessitated widening the body. Modeled to resemble the fabled Lightweight Competition E-Type racing cars, the gorgeous hand-formed aluminum panels give the E-Type a more aggressive stance and sleek, unadorned appearance lacking chrome bumpers and brightwork.
