1965 Jaguar E Type Series 1 4.2 fixed head coupe. An original right hand drive fixed head E Type from 1965 fitted with a keen 4.2 litre engine paired to a manual gearbox, making this a most desirable combination. Supplied in March 1965 by Moores of Brighton, with Cream paintwork and a light blue interior. The first owner was British Manufactured Bearings, with the apt registration BMB1. Retained upon the sale of the vehicle in 1977, it was later assigned 45XKE in September 1990. The red paintwork and black interior featured today has been present since the 1980s.

The car had only two owners since 2009, the most recent since 2017. This is not a completely restored car, though it has received continual maintenance and remedial works when required. It has a pleasing patina sympathetic to its age and houses a willing engine which starts easily and idles happily. Its not a finished article but only requires light attention, notably the fitment of new door rubbers. There are no major bodywork or mechanical demands.

In 2014, about £6000 was spent on bodywork, with new inner and outer sills, A pillar, rear wheel arches and lower rear valence, which has a slightly crackled finish, and a complete respray of the car in red. It is accompanied by a generous history file. This Jaguar presents an excellent opportunity to own a significant part of motoring history that is ready to be enjoyed.
