Sold by Fender Broad Classic Cars of Holt in March 2026. Abbreviated seller's description below.

www.fenderbroad.com/car/jaguar-e-type-series-i-4-2/

This is the 68th Series 1 FHC and is up there with the nicest driving E Types. Chassis 20068 rolled off the production line on 2 November and was dispatched C Attwood and Sons, Wolverhampton on 10 November 1964, The car has had just 3 owners, the most recent since April 1996. The car is matching numbers with engine and body as shown on the Heritage certificate.

The car was restored in the 1990s and a CD records the restoration with photos. There is also a file of invoices relating to the restoration and a photo of the most recent owner with a concours trophy for best in sports cars class. There are also MoT certificates to 1976 sowing 89652 miles and again in 1995 following restoration at 91252 miles. The MoT history is complete to September 2024 so we can say this is a matching numbers car and that the total mileage for the car is 106691 miles.

The car presents in unmarked Opalescent Silver Grey and is testament to the restoration and fastidious maintenance since. The E Type has been part of a magnificent collection for the last 30 years. The car is fitted with adjustable shock absorbers, 6J chrome wire wheels and Blockley radial tyres. The steering is razor sharp with pin point precision.

The engine is rebuilt to fast road specification and induction is through correct triple SU carburettors, with exhaust through a free flowing stainless system. It keeps cool nicely and has excellent oil pressure. A jewel of a car with excellent history and no radio. It doesn't need one when you can fire up the 6 cylinder engine and embark on a journey to anywhere.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
