Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar E-Type Roadster 4.2 Liter Series 1.5

What a find! This car was found in a Chicago area garage in a home that was for sale. Realizing how special the car was the current owner bought the entire property including the car and unearthed it himself. The photos you see of the car buried in household rubble are actual "as found" pictures!

The home owner was actually an employee and long time friend of the current owner so stories of the car preceded the purchase. The homeowners father bought the car when it was just a couple years old and only drove it during fair weather months for several years which explains the lack of rust. When the engine started performing poorly he decided to park the car for an engine overhaul and paint job. He never got beyond the disassembly of the car. This was 1976 and there it sat for over 40 years! You just don't find many early series I roadsters in this condition these days, not to mention the stunning and classic red on black color combo and 4.2 engine option, it's a great find.

The current owner is well aware of how important all of the parts are to these cars so he very carefully mined out every last nut and bolt while clearing the garage and retrieving the car so it is It's very complete. All of the numbers were checked and found to match and the engine and transmission do not show any damage other than normal wear and being partially disassembled. This car is located in Chicago Illinois

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
