cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-1967-JAGUAR-XKE-SERIES-1-1-2-4-2-LITRE ...
Current bid $19,100, 12 bids, 2 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
CAR HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR 8 YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY, THE DRIVER SIDE WAS SUBJECTED TO THE WEATHER FOR SOME TIME BEFORE I DISCOVERED THE RUST THAT WAS EATING UP THE ROCKER PANEL (SILL IN JAGUAR TALK) AND THE DRIVER FLOOR AND THEY BOTH MUST BE TOTALY REPLACED. THIS WAS A NICE DRIVER WHEN PARKED. THE CLEARCOAT IS NOW PEELING IN SEVERAL PLACES. THE INTERIOR IS NICE AND WAS REPLACED PRIOR TO MY OWNERSHIP. THE PASSENGER FLOOR SEEMS TO STILL BE OK AND THE SILL IS OK. THE TOP IS USABLE AND THERE IS A TONNEAU COVER. I WILL ALSO INCLUDE A SHOP MANUAL. THE CAR NEEDS THE RUST AREAS REPAIRED, COMPLETE PAINT JOB, AND A NEW TOP TO MAKE A NICE DRIVER. I HAVE STARTED THE CAR AND RUN IT A NUMBER OF TIMES OVER THE YEARS BUT AFTER I DISCOVERED THE RUST, I LOST INTEREST. I WILL TRY TO FIND TIME TO GET THE ENGINE RUNNING BUT I WON'T PROMISE. THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION ETC.,ALL WORKED FINE. THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE READILY AVAILABLE. THE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS SHOW NO SIGNS OF RUST. THE TRUNK AREA IS NICE AND THERE IS I NICE CHROME WIRE SPARE. THE ENDS OF THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS ON THE DRIVER SIDE HAVE ALSO BEGUN TO RUST BUT ARE REPLATABLE. THE REST OF THE CAR METAL LOOKS GREAT. THE CAR NOW STARTS, IDLES AND RUNS QUITE WELL. IT SHOULD LOAD OK.

Current bid $50,000 reserve not met, 1 bid 8 days left in auction. Buy it now price $145,000. Car now located in Hot Springs, Arkansas. 43k miles.

Sellers description:
This example has been owned by a Texas owner since being sold new. We bought it from a gentleman that had owned the car for decades. The miles seem correct beyond any doubt. The car had absolute no evidence that it had been in a collision or any other event that could have damaged the car. The body and paint have been restored to museum quality. The car has always been garaged, according to the gentleman we purchased from. It is without any rust, even prior to restoration, except for some light surface rust mostly in the trunk. It had absolute no rust throughs or rot, not even the traditional damage often seen under the battery tray. The triple carb engine and the four speed transmission run flawlessly. The wiring harness was completely replaced by a new, as original, cloth covered wiring harness. The Exterior condition is beyond belief, as it was restored with an eye toward making each detail appear as it would have when it came from the assembly line. The interior was custom made by one of the foremost supplier of authentic reproduction interiors for Jaguars. The wires and tyres are all original supplier, replacement, as new(the pictures are shot before arrival of the tyres and wheels)

This is a historical Jaguar. It is the last of the Series I cars. The last of the toggle switches on the dash, the last of the covered headlamps and it is a car whose history is known to me, individually, since 1969.

Over the years the car was maintained, as needed to enjoy the car as a driver. The interior color was changed to Red many years ago when restored we honored the colors of the car as they had been for most of its existance.

This car was, according to the Heritage Certificate, manufactured on the 26th of June 1967, Chassis Number 1E 15812, Engine Number 7E 13842-9, Body Number 4E 7714, Gearbox Number EJ 15228. A manual transmission, of course. The Exterior Color - Opalescent Silver Grey, the Interior Color - Black. Hood (soft top) colour - Black. Dispatched 17th of July 1967. As Certified by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust by Anders Ditlev Clausager - Chief Archivist 4th of July 2008. Original Distributor: Jaguar Cars, NY, NY, First Owner: David R******, Wharton Texas.

The car was taken down to the last screw and rebuilt as new. The only deviations would be the use of Nylox Nut instead of castle nuts, which are known back off, the use of Stainless steel brake lines instead of cadnium, A Stayfast hood (soft top) instead of Everflex - becase of the pure quality, SS Exhaust instead of one that rusts, Urethane paint instead of celulose. The car was reconstructed from, as possible, the existing parts - each part refinished to new condition, Where necessary - like the interior - the parts were sourced from reliable British car specialist, and when needed, from reproduction, like new - such as the tyres. The timing chain and tensioners are new. The engine was taken down, the upper and lower gaskets were replaced, the front and rear seals, all rubber was replaced with original Lucas, all brake parts replaced with new Dunlop. The Calipers were sleeved with SS to give them a potential lifetime of service. Factory tool kit is with the car.

This car has NOT been used as a driver since restored. It has been professional restored by our staff, suppliers and subs (where appropriate); test driven (approximately 2 miles), then stored in our climate controlled garage and offered for sale. You can buy it to use as a trailer queen, a show car, an addition to collection or simply as a driver but the car is 'as new'. We do not show cars. This car is a great purchase for someone who would like to bring a new car to the show circuit.

This restoration was exciting because it was it a car well known to us. The car is ABSOLUTELY free of bondo. It has had smoothing agents applied to the body as it went through multiple spraying and hand blocking because, as most are aware, the panels were not always as smooth as we would anticipate today. The end result is a paint job that borders on Museum.

This is, in our opinion, a #1 vehicle. It is better than as new. It has not be subjected to the road and so is in the same condition as a car which you would have purchased new from the dealer's showroom floor, but with the quality that is possible to bring to the paint using today's materials.

This car is from an accomplished Jaguar restorer (See the '69 XKE 2=2 sold by JAG Enterprises at Barret-Jackson in 2006

My car is 5 numbers before this car and it is does not have covered head lights...I've owned mine since 1978. So maybe his bonnet was replaced or mine was replaced with a 1.5 bonnet before I bought the car in 1978.

Car has a buy it now price of $349,500 for 4 days. Car now said to be in Huntington Station, New York. 811 miles claimed.

Sellers description:
1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 LITER SERIES 1.5 ROADSTER
--Opalescent Silver with Red leather interior, Red carpets and Black convertible top, Rotisserie Restoration by Marque Specialist, Performance upgrades and 5-speed gearbox, Concours condition, Chrome wire wheels, Matching Numbers, Certified by the Jaguar Heritage Trust. VIN: 1E15812
This E-type Roadster is a matching numbers example. According to its Heritage Certificate it was delivered new to the U.S. market and sold new by Jaguar Cars New York to its first registered owner Mr. David Reimens of Wharton, Texas on July 17th, 1967.
This E-type has been a Texas car for almost all of its life. It was left early on unused in a garage, but complete. Purchased by Jaguar restoration firm, it was completely restored. Subsequently, it was sold to a Mr. R. Isip a Texas Toyota dealer and collector. In 2012, this E-type was offered for sale. Subsequently, purchased sight unseen from the internet by our client and its previous owner in 2012, it was delivered to its new home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once received and upon inspection by a marquee expert, it was noted to be a mediocre restoration at best.
It was decided to send this E-type to Texas based Jaguar expert, Dan Mooney's Classic Jaguar for a thorough nut-and-bolt restoration that also provided an upgraded level of performance while aiming for cosmetic authenticity and thus, re-restore this E-type properly and to exacting standards, the way it should have been in the first place! A restoration photo album at...classicjaguar.com/cj/jimk.html
The original matching-numbers engine was completely rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted. New high-performance camshafts, enlarged stainless steel valves, Forged pistons, lightweight flywheel, K&N filters and an aluminum radiator were fitted for improved performance. For better road holding and drivability, Classic Jaguar added a five-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, Koni shocks, upgraded torsion bars and wider, polished Dayton wire wheels mounted with Dunlop performance tires. Cosmetically the choice was made to retrofit a Series 1 bonnet with covered headlamps. Although not significantly altered from its original configuration, this E-type boasts approximately 300 horsepower in its current form. A complete list of upgrades can be seen within the photos.
