Car was bought in Winter of 2000. As of May 2003, new master cyclinder was installed and after a bleeding, will be ready for the road. 1 more E-type on the road.

Yes, master cylinder was installed, and tune up is slowly being done. Due to financial reasons (laid off for a while), funding of the project has slowed down a bit. Springtime, she should be ready. I'll post a couple pics when I can.

Hilltop Auto stock #184, is this fully matching number 4.2 liter, covered headlight, Series I E-type Roadster. The car has the Sherwood Green exterior with a black interior. The car was originally dispatched to Canada and then worked it's way to the U.S. It is equipped with the European amber directional light. The car does run and drive, but the brakes are sticky due to sitting for some time and it is recommended that they be gone through. The sills and the floors are in excellent condition - we can not find any rust on them. The only place we can find that will need rust repair is in the boot area. This car is an excellent value for the money. You can not buy a running and driving Series I E-type roadster for this kind of money. You can use the car the way it is now and have some fun or you can restore the car to its original beauty.

I bought the e-type from Hilltop and shipped it back to the UK. It runs (just) on triple webers. I'm no expert but judging by the spark plugs it's running too rich. Clearly its had some work done on the body work (floors, sills), and money spent on the engine (new enameled exhaust manifolds - with no cracks!). Will require a lot of work to make it street legal and safe.

Car came with no paperwork other than the Title, would love to find out more about its history and hear from any previous owners (Chris, are you still active on xkedata?)
