Description

XKE 4.2L Series I Roadster, the body style is an open two seater with left hand drive. The VIN/chassis, engine, body and gearbox numbers are all original to this Jaguar. The exterior is silver blue and the interior is black. The current owner purchased this Jaguar XKE on 15 August 1972 in Denver, CO. He has driven, maintained, repaired and shown this Jaguar for the last 44 years. From 2008 to 2015 this 1967 Jaguar XKE was totally disassembled and completely cleaned, inspected and restored. The engine, gearbox and differential/rear suspension were rebuilt. The seats, dash, radio box, door panels, carpeting, console, glove box and complete interior was cleaned, repaired or restored. It has a new OEM clutch with Fidanza aluminum flywheel, new stainless steel exhaust with new blue manifolds and chrome resonators and new universal joints in drive shaft. Cleaned and rebuilt the intake system, manifold, choke and the triple carburetors. It also has new chrome bumpers and new front and rear suspension. The lower ball joints were sealed, polyurethane front suspension bushings, new shocks, new rear suspension mounts and new motor mounts. It has new brake rotors, master cylinder, slave cylinder, rebuilt brake calipers and brake lines. New water pump, aluminum radiator, series II radiator fan motor and mount, otter switch, wiring, thermostat, header tank and hoses. It has a new wiring loom on the left side. New body rubber all around the car. The body was striped, sanded, and prepared for paint. All metal repairs were done by welding metal. It has new paint, urethane base coat / clear coat in the original 1967 Jaguar color for this XKE from factory records, Opalescent Silver Blue Metal flake. The new Stayfast convertible top is blue outside and black inside. It has new top bow straps, new headliner and trim. The wheels are the original 1967 Dunlop wire wheels with 5 tires made in 2001 Dunlop D65 Touring M & S P215/70R15 with less than 2,500 miles on the four on the ground and 0 miles on the one in the trunk. The wheel in the trunk has four broken spokes. The four wheels on the ground have no broken spokes. Three wheels I rate as excellent and one is very good. Four new knock-off hub nuts make the wheels stand out and look good. New tan trunk side panels, tan trunk mat, paint is correct, gas tank cleaned, painted, sealed, new sump and hoses, new fuel pump, trunk cleaned and restored. All the wood is original and correct. Jack and tool role, hub nut board, foot board for the passenger, XKE owner's manual, shop manual. The speedometer needs to be cleaned and calibrated. It works but is slow and sticky.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
