    Sellers description:
NEWLY RESTORED JAGUAR E-TYPE (XKE). This is a one owner car. Convertible with mint red paint and newly finnished leather seats. Car is in excellent condition, has been garaged with only 70,000 miles. I have records of mechanical maintenance of this car for the past few years or so. It is a series I, which is the most desirable of the E-types.

This car is truly a head-turner. Its sounds combined with its look is nothing less than beautiful. Truly a moving piece of art.

The example before you is a desirable 1967 S1 OTS (Open Two Seater) that has been pampered and restored to pristine condition. Stunning is an understatement for this magnificent car!

Additionally, it runs, drives, and performs as new or better. It starts on the button and is every bit as new as it was in 1967!

This is a car that could simply not be duplicated. It has been maintained by a jaguar specialist ASE certified mechanic who has personally reccomended this car as one of the nicest he has worked on. He can be contacted by serious buyers to discuss the quality of this fine car. If you have been looking for a great S1 OTS, please take a good look at this one. I think you will like what you see!

    Sellers description:
1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 4.2 Roadster is Red with a Black Leather Interior and Black Stayfast convertible top. This is essentially a one owner car. The original owner sold it to someone who was purchasing it as a gift. The recipient preferred a newer car, so the car was sold to Cooper Classics. We have had the opportunity to speak to the original owner who exclaimed that it was her "baby" for 40 years and she wished she had never sold it. She received it as a gift from her Husband in 1967. He purchased it from the dealer after the gentleman who originally ordered the car backed out of the sale. Once we received the car we discovered that there were some items that needed to be addressed before it met our standards. We had the car completely stripped and repainted. A complete new leather interior was installed including new carpeting, panels, seats, etc. The stayfast convertible top and boot cover are new. The rest of the car has been sorted including the brightwork with all new or rechromed items. New chrome wire wheels were installed as well as new tires. After the significant time and money spent on the cosmetics the car was taken to an expert Jaguar mechanic who went through the car completely. His work included tuning the carbs and installing a new clutch. What we now have to offer is one of the most desirable classic automobiles today - a 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I Roadster - in both excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. A heritage certificate authenticating the matching numbers and color combination is included with the sale.

Current bid: $20,100 reserve not met 7 bids 9 days left in auction seller proteng car now said to be in Sarasota, Florida, 71k miles.

    Seller's description:

    1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1

    Color: Red with black interior

    Odometer: 71,048 miles

    Vin Number: IE14353

    Engine Number: 7E116189

    Details, Opinions:

Serial number 1 E 14353 is here on consignment from an internationally known global capital markets executive who has a vacation home here in Sarasota and is relinquishing this beautiful E-type due to a back injury that keeps him from enjoying it. The seller's wife purchased the car for him as a birthday gift just over 8 years ago. She purchased the car from a well known Jaguar specialist and restoration shop in New York. The car was enjoyed by the seller during his first summer with the car at his beach house in New Jersey. That fall the car was shipped to his waterfront mansion here in Sarasota. All of the service records, books, and restoration documents were left in New Jersey with the intent to bring to Florida. Hurricane Sandy flooded the New Jersey beach house and unfortunately all of the paperwork except the title was lost. To clarify; the car was here in Sarasota when the records were lost in Hurricane Sandy.

I have personally driven the car around a bit to be able to describe it. The engine runs great and has a nice throttle response. It's evident the car has been well maintained. No shaking and the car goes straight down the road without pulling to either side.

The interior is very clean and it's of course a non-smoker car. No perfume or strange body odors. The tires are in excellent condition.

Everything seems to be functioning properly. No mechanical issues. The car was just gone through by a local classic Jaguar specialist in preparation for the sale. I verified that it's a matching numbers car. The clutch feels good and the transmission shifts smooth. Excellent suspension no noises very solid feel. The underbelly is clean and free of any cancerous rust. The paint is very nice, there's no peeling or faded spots anywhere. Absolutely no rust anywhere. No scratches. The convertible top is in excellent condition and the rear window is in excellent condition.

    Summary:

If you are looking for a very nice and solid Series I XKE that runs and looks great then you should take a closer look at this one. My opinions should not be relied upon in leu of a third-party professional pre-purchase inspector. If you want representations of facts you can rely on to make your purchase decision please have a third-party inspector inspect the car here in my warehouse in Sarasota, Florida.

From the Collection of a Gentleman Greensboro, North Carolina

Online notes from XKE data indicates in 2009 the car was repainted, with new interior and Stayfast top, brightwork re-finished, new wire wheels and tires installed by the selling dealer Cooper Classics in NYC. It was also fitted with a new clutch. It was a one owner car to that point, owned by a lady. In 2011, It was sold to a couple and kept in Sarasota Florida. After 8 years of ownership, health reasons required a sale. All original documents were lost in the New Jersey home during Hurricane Sandy. Recent ownership since 2019/20.

Very clean example, and starts with the first push of the button every time. In house services included: engine bay detail to include cam cover and carburetor polish, wheel off detail to rims and suspension, and overall detail with one stage polish.

The car runs smooth, and straight with no surprises. The dash appears to be original and mostly undisturbed, with an original steering wheel, and the gauges appear crisp. The twin exhaust pipes produce a rich exhaust note.

The following condition report, while thorough, is not exhaustive as vintage cars have inherent wear and imperfections. We welcome personal inspections.

The paint in overall wonderful condition, with few areas of concern; the louvres on the hood show some minor cracking to paint; left turn indicator is missing from dash; the brightwork in overall wonderful condition, with slight surface imperfections; the boot cover tabs do not align well; no other apparent concerns.

Items entered in the “Original Factory Build Sheet” are from a recent Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. The engine block and head numbers are confirmed to match the certificate and car’s data plate.
