What a beautiful car. I was a Mini Cooper fan to the core but this car could change my mind. Maybe one day. Thanks for sharing your site info with me today.

Still the pleased owner of this car since 1971. It limped to and from college for a few years, never stranding me in two cross-country trips, and--with no buyer in sight--put on blocks and garaged for 12 years. Concours restoration in 1985-1987, when NOS parts and labor were readily available for fair prices on a car no-one thought would ever be of value. The car is rarely driven and is still in concours condition. I know how fortunate I am to still have my first car...

It is a shame the car is "rarely driven". Cars are to be driven not parked in the garage!

Perhaps instead of saying "rarely driven" I should have said "driven only on special occasions." A special occasion is motoring to any destination on a summer weekend. And, of course, she prefers to be exhibited topless.

Still in love with my mistress E-Type. I have been the very fortunate caretaker since 1971.

On 3/7/15, I added the comment about still being the caretaker of my wonderful E-Type since 1971. The entry was attributed to "Lofty." I don't know why.

In 2019, I changed the plate registration to the generic 9W1416, as the prior vanity plate, "10LIZY" referred to the famous Ford Model T race car, "Tin Lizzie," and was also a veiled reference to my ex wife. After our divorce, my many friends convinced me to be rid of it. Great vanity plate; sad circumstance.

The latest photos I uploaded this month (October 2020) are from the annual "Oregon City Cruise-In" Concours in September, 2019. The car won "Best of Show" from 350 entrants of restorations, restomods and hot rods. Thank you, OC Cruise-In for a memorable show!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
