Ebay item 6/1/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-Jaguar-Series-I-4-2-XKE-Roadster-/161036950819
Current bid $30,000 reserve not met 27 bids 8 days left in auction. 43k miles.

Sellers description:
Fresh barn find. This unrestored matching number 4.2, Series I, E-type roadster was just discovered. This is the E-type everyone wants. It has the 4.2 engine, the tri-carb set up, the synchromesh gearbox and the covered headlights. The engine turns freely and the original color was maroon with a black interior. The numbers of the car are as follows chassis number 1E13825, engine number is 7E10700-9, the body number is 4E5551 and the gearbox number is EJ11282. The body is decent shape. There is a little rust in the boot area, but nothing major. The floors and the sills look decent. The car is pretty much complete.

90% sure I recognize this car. If it's the same one, body's in worse shape than appears from photos and Seller's descrip.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
