Up for auction here has got to be the nicest 67 Jag you are going to find. Just look at the pictures and form your own opinion, the car is spectacular. It's a 1967 Jaguar XKE Convertible, 4.2 liter 280 hp Series 1.5 9 to 1 compression engine. It has just over 46,000 documented, original miles. The owner of the car is currently the second owner and purchased the car in 1971. Along with the purchase of the car comes with a stack of receipts which can document the cars history. All the numbers match on this vehicle and the engine is so clean you could eat off of it. The wheels are knock-offs and they are the original chrome ones. Tires in great shape. All the chrome is the original pieces that came with the car in 1967. It has a telescopic steering wheel with the manual tilt. Steering wheel is also original. The interior is exceptionally nice and all original with the exception of the carpet which has been replaced and is flawless and the arm rests on the doors have been recovered but still looks original. The motor was completely rebuilt in 2000 and runs like a scalded dog. The exhaust is new and all the brakes have been re-done and new stainless liners were put in and also new emergency pads were installed. It has taken first place the last 2 years in the Roadster Factory Summer Party for British Cars in the Jaguar Class. The radio is not original but I do have the Blaupunkt one that was in the car when It was purchased back in 1971. The car is a knock-out and runs and drives practically brand new. This Jag is still privately owned by the second owner.

Lot #163529

This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was refurbished in the 1990s and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in black over Cinnamon leather, the car is equipped with a black soft top and top boot, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, an aftermarket radio, and a heater. The seller purchased the car around 2003 and service in 2015 reportedly included overhauling the brakes and suspension. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered in Virginia with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. Originally Opalescent Golden Sand, this example has been repainted in black. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, a soft boot, enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets. There is a dent in the bonnet, the right-front bumper is misalighted, and there is corrosion on the floorboards and trunk floor.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/70 Michelin Weather Wise tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The seller notes that the brakes and suspension were overhauled in 2015.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in Cinnamon leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, an aftermarket radio, and a heater.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque.

The cylinder head stamp 7E9494-9 matches the numbers listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate and the chassis identification plate. The body number stamping shown in the image gallery below also corresponds with both the certificate and chassis identification plate.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
