Additional description from above auction:
Lot 012

This 4.2-Litre Jaguar Series I E-Type was the subject of a comprehensive, professional restoration in the early 2000s. After purchasing the freshly restored roadster in August 2003, the consignor sent his new treasure to noted Jaguar restorer John Pollock in Los Angeles to ensure it was in the best possible mechanical and cosmetic condition. The car has since been maintained by the consignor's full-time mechanic, a Jaguar specialist.

Exquisitely finished in Dark Blue with Biscuit leather interior, gleaming brightwork, chrome wire wheels, and a beige convertible top, this E-Type was painstakingly restored using correct hardware, hoses, clamps, and Lucas electrical components.

Brilliantly restored and expertly maintained, this striking 4.2-Litre Jaguar Series I E-Type is ideally suited for the show circuit or open-air touring in stylish comfort.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
