    Sellers description from above listing:
She was not always a Hard Top body type, nor was she always a 3.8 Litre she was converted and fully rebuilt in 1989. She was originally an open seater body type, set in cream against a black leather interior with the registration number: SD 130 and chassis number 1E 1286.

She has heritage certificates to validate her as the iconic Jaguar famously driven by Simon Dee on the outro of his 1960's TV Chat Show: The Simon Dee Show!

Her famous appearance on each episode on The Simon Dee Show Outro: (www.youtube.com/watch).

A car with such an unbelievable history, the most iconic E Type Jaguar of all time? A one off opportunity complete with Jaguar Heritage Certificate.

"With its famous closing credits featuring Dee driving away in an E-Type Jaguar in the company of a glamorous blonde, Dee Time caught the spirit of an era. In its 1967 heyday, the twice-weekly show's ground breaking format of music and set-piece interviews - as well as its catchphrase of "It's Siiiiimon Dee!" - secured huge audiences for the BBC and placed its host at the heart of London's heady social scene." (The Independent)

    My story with her:
I purchased her in 2011 and after much enjoyment and curiosity as to her convertible heritage I uncovered her incredible history.

On inspection of her Jaguar Heritage Certificate I made arrangements to speak to Selwyn Demmy, her first owner (on the Jaguar Archive Records his name is spelt Denny), in person to trace her heritage, he wasn't hard to trace as he is now the bookmaking tycoon behind such brands as William Hill.

Selwyn Demmy confirmed that he purchased the E Type brand new in 1965 from David Rosenfield, he lent the E Type to Simon Dee for use on his show. Many other stars travelled in her including Lina Longlegs, a top model of the sixties who is a frequent face at many Jaguar shows.

She now has receipts documenting thousands of pounds spent as she was rebuilt in 1989 and changed from a soft top body to her 2 door hard top coupe current body type. Her 4.2 engine was also replaced with a 3.8 Litre. The amount spent and documented is incredible.

At A JDC event at Harewood House near Harrogate in the late 80s/early 90s I met the owner of a cream/black 4.2 roadster. While chatting, he told me that this had been the Simon Dee car. Maybe there were two (or more) cars on the show but it seems there needs to be research on this.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
