Jaguar introduced the 'E' Type in 1961 and by 1964 they had introduced the 4.2 litre engine into the Series I model. It was a redesigned engine with better bottom end torque and mid range pickup but it also had the new Jaguar gearbox that at last had syncromesh on first.
Dating from 1965 we are pleased to offer this much preferred manual example of the Series I open two seater roadster which is an English car that was exported to Los Angles in the USA in 1985 and only returned to the UK recently. It is described as being in good condition throughout and although the paintwork could do with a small amount of attention it is a rust free and very solid car throughout.
The owner is at this moment waiting to receive notification of the new registration number, which hopefully will be the original one re-issued, but the car passed its MOT last month and the logbook will be sent to the new owner as soon as it is available.

I bought this car in the auction in 2001. It has undergone a complete nut & bolt restoration over the last four years and should be back on the road by Septemebr. I would appreciate help from anyone with any info on the history of this car, especially the first owner who is still based in US I believe.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
