Car offered at:
www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/jaguar/e-type/2371923.html

Seller's description:
Location: West Palm Beach, Florida, 33411
VIN #: 1E12186
Transmission: Manual
Condition: Mint
Exterior: Pale Primrose
Interior: Black Leather

This numbers matching 1967 Jaguar E-Type has had the same owners (caretakers) for the last 44 years. I wanted a series 1 roadster since childhood and in June of 1976 my then fiance purchased the car in Syracuse N.Y.. I had been a British Leyland apprentice during high school so I knew my way around Jags. It was a daily driver from 1976 to 2009. Our 4 children all grew up knowing that the "Jag" was the oldest sibling in the family. Throughout this time the car was driven, enjoyed, and maintained beyond factory specs. In 1985 I became a Jaguar Master Tech which only enhanced the car's care. In 2009 after 33 years of reliable service I decided to take care of some rust ........well I couldn't just do a patch-up job, not my style and the car is a family member. So 11 years later, every system in this car has been thoroughly gone through, no stone unturned, no expense spared.

The engine and transmission only had 22k so they got a tear down and reseal. Cylinderhead got a decarbonizing, valve lapping and cam bearings. Original calipers were resleeved by White Post Restorations. The rest of the hydrolics are new, including the the clutch master and slave. The front and rear suspention bushings, mounts and fasteners are all new. The final drive unit was completely rebuilt. As far as the electrical system: the gauges were all dismantled inspected cleaned and resealed. Same with all switches, motors, relays and harnesses which were rewrapped in cloth tape. Everything works even the clock. As far as the rust repair, all replacement panels were manufactured by Martin Robey they include: R&L radius arm mounts, R&L lower quarter panels, boot floor, R&L outer sills, R&L door skins, R&L F&R inner sill supports, all 4 bulkhead to frame mounts, R&L heel wells, and left floor. The entire car was brought to bare metal inside and out etched and epoxy primed prior to the panels being welded. This process will delay any corrosion. No plastic filler was used only a product called All Metal was used on seems and repairs. The finish is PPG Concept single stage urethane enamel mix to factory color Pale Primrose.( original color) During the refinishing each panel was painted separately including the bonnet parts. This is good if you ever have to adjust or remove a panel there won't be any chipping, it also is a nice detail. The wheel wells and underside have a final finish of two part epoxy bedliner, extremely durable and cleans easily. The original chrome wasn't bad so..... 5 new Dayton wheels, spinners, and Vredestien tires. Most of the exterior chrome was replated or replaced about 20% is still original. When it comes to the interior there is only one source that provides the closest to original as possible and that is British Auto Specialists. I installed their major kit with a canvas top.(minor change from original) While on the topic of changes, I made a few drivability changes over the years, they are: Lumanition electronic ignition which retains the factory distributor. High volume cooling fan and Ideal hose clamps. Weyland Ram-Flo air filters, Koni shocks, and stainless exhaust. When I started this whole thing it was not my intention to do a "full on fully" but it was just the proper way to do it. Now we have the "Jag" in the most excellent condition. Unfortunatly I'm not.... It's time to let this most amazing machine go to a new home. If you ever dreamed of owning one of these and have the means ...this is the vechicle for you!

Seller's description:

This is a 1967 Jaguar XKE Roadster that has been extensively restored and comes with a detailed ownership and restoration history. According to the previous owner, on June 24, 1976 his soon to be wife purchased this car in Syracuse N.Y., from a police officer named George Bush. The car was burgundy in color, had 32k miles and was serviced and painted at a shop called Midtown Auto. He believes that George was the owner for a little over 2 years. Him and his wife drove the car during the summer months and stored it in winters. He did some minor from the purchase date to the late 70s. In 1980 at 52k miles He sent the monocoque out to have the rust repairs done. The floors and trunk floor were repaired at a shop called Spectrum Auto Body in Peekskill N.Y.. The final refinishing was done at his shop, Carz Body and Performance, in Mahopac N.Y. where the color was changed to black. At the same time the engine was rebuilt (.030 over bore), suspension, and brakes were also serviced. From 1981 to 2009 the car was used and enjoyed. In 2009 the car was completely dismantled, the engine and transmission only had 22k so they got a tear down and reseal. Cylinder head got a decarbonizing, valve lapping and cam bearings replaced. Condition Excellent

-Primrose Yellow with Black leather interior, Black carpeting, Black convertible top as well as body colored factory hard top, Fully restored, 4.2 liter straight six-cylinder engine, 4-speed transmission, Chrome wire wheels, Matching Numbers, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.

This Series 1 has been extensively restored and comes complete with a detailed ownership and restoration history. The heritage certificate confirms its matching numbers and original color combination from new.

Prior to its most recent ownership and restoration, the E-type had been in the same ownership for 44 years, from June 1976 to 2020, its owner only selling due to age. Detailed records indicate his purchase in June, 1976 at which time it had only covered 32k miles. During his ownership it was used only in the summer months and stored it in the winters. Always serviced regularly, in 1980/81 at 52k miles, the Jag was repainted, the engine was rebuilt and the suspension and brakes were all serviced.

More recently and in its current ownership, this E-type was completely dismantled and fully rebuilt-restored. The restoration has been photo documented to show the extent of the work and care taken.

This restoration was completed in 2019, no stone was left unturned. Absolutely everything has been restored as per original, everything works even the clock. The following upgrades have been completed to make this E-type drive as well as it looks: Lumenition electronic ignition (this retains the factory distributor). a high volume cooling fan, Weyland air filters, Koni shocks as well as a full stainless steel exhaust system.

This is an exceptionally restored E-type Series 1 Roadster, in a superb color combination and ready for immediate, road use or concours showing.
