Ebay item 5/5/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $15,100, reserve ?, 9 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
ATTENTION JAGUAR ENTHUSIASTS!! here is a great opportunity to own a beautiful, restored, numbers matching XKE roadster, from the most desireable year, with only 48,600 miles, and records to 1981! This exquisite e-type is completely restored and needs nothing but a new owner to thoroughly enjoy. This is a rust free car which you can either drive or show. The car is finished in correct, beautiful factory red lacquer, and boasts over $20,000 in restoration receipts in the last 4000 miles. I have kept all receipts and they include: New paint, top, interior, rebuilt engine, new clutch, rebuilt 4 speed transmission, new rubber kit, new suspension and brakes, wheels and tires! All electrics work perfectly, even the windscreen washer pump! All chrome and stainless are perfect. This gorgeous 1966 roadster looks, runs and drives like new, is factory fast and never overheats. Oil presure zooms right up to the top of the gauge and drops to 50psi once the car is warmed up. There is no smoke at any time. There has never been any rust on this car that I can find. The rockers, doors , fender wells, floors, body mounts and pans are very good. The doors open and close perfectly, with that Jaguar "chunk" that we all love to hear. The panel gaps are excellent all around. This is a matching numbers car and the subframe numbers also match the data plate and title. This is truly a beautiful, low mileage 1966 Jaguar XKE roadster which needs nothing to enjoy now. The reserve is reasonable given the market and condition of this car. Please do not ask what the reserve is; you'll know it when you hit it.

There is a reserve for this auction. For some reason the reserve feature did not come up when I posted the listing. It is reasonable, considering the condition of the Jaguar

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
