Ebay item 10/11/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Open-Two-Seater-1966-jaguar-series-i-4-2-e-type-r ...
Car has a buy it now price of $89,500 for 9 days. 81k miles.
Sellers description:
1966, 4.2 open two seater XKE. We purchased this car from a fellow member of our local Jaguar Club which he bought in 1975 from a gentleman in California where the car originally came from. The car was used quite a bit during the 40 years that that the local Jag member owned it. When he could no longer get in and of the car, he contacted us to sell it. The car was registered and insured as of last week and runs and drives beautifully and it shifts into the gears smoothly. The engine sounds very good, there is no knocking or tapping that can be heard. The brakes work as they should and there is no overheating problem, that we can see. The paint on the car is very nice. The interior is a bit tatty from the frequent use, but can be used as is. The top on the car is not ripped, but the back window plastic is a bit foggy. The original engine for the car is lost, the 4.2 engine in the car now is from a 1966 E-type and the number of the present engine is not too far from the original engine number. In California it was quite common for the E-types to have the engines replaced, probably due to overheating. We have in hand a Jaguar Heritage Certificate for the car. If you looking a reasonably priced E-type roadster that can be driven right away, here is your opportunity without having to pay the restored E-type prices.
