Ebay item 8/8/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-1966-Jaguar-XKE-Roadster-/1105706 ...
Car has a buy it now price of $55,000 for 6 days.

Sellers description:
1966 Series 1 Jaguar XKE Roadster 4.2 litre automobile. This car was first purchased by a Dr. Clark Leavitt in December of 1965. On April 17, 1972 Dr. Leavitt sold it to Robert H. Brandow.

The car has been garaged throughout its life, has seen rain maybe a couple of times and never felt snow. In anticipation of selling the car i've had it stripped of paint to the metal and repainted still in its original black ($9,000). The same is true with the interior which is redone in its original red ($5,500 approx). The engine is original and untouched. It could be painted if you wanted to show the car.

I have service records going back to 1966, have the original manuals, and some of the original tools. The current odometer reads 19,361 miles but it is the second odometer since the original was replaced in the seveties with 14,482 miles on it. So the total is 33,843 miles.

Car returns to ebay 7/10/11

Opening bid $45,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 9 days left in auction. Same location, 33k miles.

Sellers description:
The vehicle was purchased in December of 1965 by a Dr. Clark Leavitt from a dealer named Old Town Dodge in Chicago, Ill. Dr. Leavitt sold it to my uncle, Robert H. Brandow, on April 17, 1972. I bought the car from my uncle in 1981 ahd have owned it since.

The car has been babied, garaged all of its life, probably only feeling rain a few times. In aticipation of selling the car I've had the paint stripped and repainted and the interior redone, retaining the original color for both. The engine could be repained or chromed but other than that the car is in very good condition.

I have service records going back to 1966 , have manuals, and some of the original tools. The odometer currently read 19.361 (i may drive it once or twice in the next few days so the actual number may display twenty or thirty miles more) bit it is the second odometer in the car. The original was removed with 14,482. I do still have the original.
