Purchased June, 2008 from Doug Scott of Boulder. I am at least the 4th owner. Odometer believed correct at purchase: 79,697.
Scott had XK's Unltd of San Luis Obispo peform 95 point total restoration from July 1989 to Dec. 1990 at 77K. Now under care of T's Sunrise of Englewood, the Jag has passed 84K (March, 2010) and is reliable, trouble-free transportation.

Opening bid $79,000.00
Reserve price not met, no bids 9 days left in auction. Car still said to be in Denver, 12k miles.

Sellers description:
95-point 1990 restoration to original specs, colors and trim by one of the oldest and most respected Jag shops in the U.S. Add five years of driving, sorting, detailing, maintaining and upgrading (with $30,000 of receipts) by a fanatic owner and T's Sunrise, Colorado's premier English car garage. And you have a turn-key classic car that is breathtaking in appearance and rock-solid in driving quality--no squeaks, no rattles. You can idle in traffic on a 100 degree day and never overheat. Everything works from the wipers and windscreen washer, to the tiny clock in the tachometer. Well, if you know English cars, the heater doesn't work all that well and the convertible hood is finicky and might leak a bit. Best to drive as the Queen intended--with the top down and the spirits up. This is not a Pebble Beach car but a state concours winner that is fast, reliable, totally sorted and worth the extra money up front that won't be spent later.

CURRENT OWNER
The seller is a 66-year-old retired high school athletic administrator who is known locally for his modest garaged collection of classics that have either been a part of his real or fantasy life. In the last four years he has won 1st place awards in the Colorado CP Concours d'Elegance with four different cars: 1967 Porsche 911 (purchased new by his father), 1971 VW Superbeetle (purchased new in Colorado), 1978 BMW 320i (purchased new) and the Jag.

His overriding philosophy of classic car ownership is that while all the cars must look as perfect as possible they must be driven on a regular basis. The smallest of mechanical or cosmetic issues must be immediately addressed and corrected.

The only reason the owner is willing to part with this E-Type is that he as purchased a 1967 XKE and has no more garage space.

Detail periodically maintained throughout the year.
-All mechanical work performed to the highest standards by Jim and Bruce of T's Sunrise of Englewood, CO.
-All maintenance recorded in computer log and in leather bound log book, decorated with a leaping cat, that fits in the console box. All receipts available.

FINAL PITCH
If you love to drive and want to do it in the most beautiful car ever made, this is the car for you. If you believe that buying the best classic that you can afford (let the seller spend the money on the restoration and upgrades) is economical in the long run, you'll be happy with this Jag for years to come.

Lot #232434

This 1966 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was repainted red as part of a refurbishment completed by XK’s Unlimited of San Luis Obispo, California, in 1990. The car is finished in red with a black soft top over black leather upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six fitted with triple SU carburetors that is linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It features enclosed headlights and rides on 15″ wire-spoke wheels coupled with adjustable coilovers and power-assisted disc brakes. This XKE Series I roadster was acquired by the current owner in 2014 and is now offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, a binder of refurbishment photos, service records, and a clean Colorado title.

Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights as well as taillights mounted above the wraparound chrome rear bumpers. This example was repainted red as part of the aforementioned refurbishment completed in 1990. It wears a black soft top and top boot and is further equipped with a louvered clamshell hood, door-mounted side mirrors, and triple windshield wipers. The seller notes that they had the headlights repaired and the front splash guards repainted black.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car rides on adjustable coilovers, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated dash, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a sliding rearview mirror, a heater, lap belts, and hand-crank windows.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The rolled five-digit odometer shows 15k miles. The speedometer cable was replaced in January 2026, and approximately 25k miles are said to have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with triple SU carburetors and rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque when new. The fuel tank and sump were reportedly replaced in December 2025, and work in January 2026 is said to have involved rebuilding the carburetors as well as replacing the thermostat.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate notes a manufacture date of April 23, 1965, and lists the factory colors and drivetrain numbers.

An included binder containing photos taken at various stages of the refurbishment process is included in the sale along with vehicle literature and service records.
