'EOK 733C' is an extremely rare RHD example of a highly original and unmolested E-Type that has never been restored. Having spent much of its life in storage, the odometer now registers just 43,452 miles, and although not all MoTs are present, the vendor is happy to warrant this as correct. The car has been known to him for many years and was purchased from a good friend in 1988 although he did not actually take possession of it until 2001 when the V5 document records him as being registered as the new keeper. Around this time, following its emergence from storage, the car benefitted from an amount of recommissioning work carried out by PDQ Car Services of Chislehurst, Kent for which invoices are on file. The fuel system was attended to including rebuilding of the carburettors and fuel pump and conversion to unleaded petrol. The water pump was also replaced along with the exhaust at 42,189 miles. Further work included attention to the gearbox and the fitment of a new clutch at 42,702 miles, together with machining and remetalling of the gearbox main shaft. Having been exercised sparingly since, the car has continued to enjoy a cosseted existence.

Finished in its original factory Silica Sand paint which the vendor describes as "superb" except for an area of surface rust on each sill bottom under the doors, he further describes the red leather interior as "average" and the clutch as occasionally "graunchy" believing attention to the thrust bearing may be required. We understand the slave cylinder has recently been replaced.

Offered with Swansea V5 document, history file containing most MoTs back to 1978 and much information prior to 1982 this time-warp E-Type is surely worthy of close inspection. It is expected to possess a fresh MoT by the time of sale.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
