Car returns to ebay 7/20/08

Current bid $5,000 reserve not met, 2 bids, 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $102,500.

Sellers description:
This Champion Concours and numerous award winner is a true piece of rolling art. This fine automobile is truly a Show/Driver. I enjoy driving this car once a week, and have participated successfully in many car shows in my local area and throughout Florida.

I chose this car for restoration due to it’s premium status in the car range. I chose the color “Carmen Red” with a biscuit interior as, to me, the right color for this car and the best to show off the stunning lines of this classic.

This matching numbers E-Type was originally delivered to New York on March 1, 1965, as can be seen on the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Certificate. I understand the car lived most of it's life in Pennsylvania. The car has 49,182 prior to restoration, and 731 miles since.

The meticulous professional restoration was completed April 28, 2006, and has been covered in my garage and lovingly cared for since. At the shows it is always one of the real "attention-getters" with the usual crowd around the car, swapping E-Type stories!

The car was restored over 10 months by englishman Mr. Paul Ireson of Ireson Motor Sports of Fort Myers, Florida. Paul's skill is well known in the Restoration, Custom and Tuner world: He has won the George Barris ward at the Detroit Auto Show, National and Regional Champoinships at Hot Import Nights and Nopi Nationals. He has lovingly restored many british cars and many E-Types. I have a full photographic record of the restoration. During restoration the car was completely disassembled and re-built. The engine was removed, dipped and rebuilt. All parts that were not top-notch were replaced, and many upgrades for reliability and drivability were added, such as new rear end from a Jaguar XJS, aluminum radiator, new clutch, new Wilwood High-Perfomance Brakes, electronic points, suspension upgrades, electric fan, high-output alternator, new stainless steel exhaust system with porcelain coated headers, all keeping with the heritage of this timeless classic. The original Primrose Yellow paint was removed and replaced with another original color "Carmen Red" with clearcoat. The interior was fully replaced, including new tan canvas top and boot cover. Gauges are all original with a new speedometer. The seat belts, glove box, seat belts, rubber gaskets, mouldings, grommets and dash trims are all new. All chrome was sent out and stripped, copper plated and restored to a magnificent finish. New Dunlop radials are set on new Dayton Wire wheel knock-offs. The car came to me with the original, still-operating, Blaupunkt AM-FM Stereo Radio. I restored the original radio console with new speakers and new ashtray. I use this console for showing the car. For everyday use, I built a second console (easily interchangeable) with a JVC AM-FM-CD Stereo with new speakers (shown in the interior photos of the car.) The original console, also pictured separately, is included with the car. A replacement jack with new cover, and almost complete original tool kit with new cover are also included with the car. No expense was spared in this incredible restoration.

In October, 2007, the car was awarded 99.01 points in the Dan Ligas Memorial Concours, Champion Class, held by the Suncoast Jaguar Club in Clearwater, Florida. (www.suncoastjaguarclub.com/Concourse.htm)
This was a JCNA sanctioned event, and the show results are listed on the JCNA and Suncoast Jaguar Club websites. I entered this class fully knowing I would receive a .8 point deduction for not having the original "Skinny" wheels and tires of the original car. If I had, this outstanding Jaguar would have scored 99.81 in that event!
For those of you that know sanctioned JCNA Concours, you will know the extreme rigors of the Champion Class, which are far more difficult than the Driven or Special Class. I believe this could be a 100 point car in the Driven Class! In addition, this car has received many other trophies in Open Shows and British Car Shows including Peoples Choice Awards.

This is truly a unique one of a kind E-Type for that special person who will lovingly care for this classic. I am reluctantly selling this beauty as it is time for another Jaguar lover to enjoy this fine automobile, as well as the fact that I have started my next project in the restoration of a 1966 E-Type Fixed Head Coupe.
