Ebay item 4/20/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Jaguar-XKE-60-000-original-miles-No-rust-Very-origi ...
Current bid $12,100 reserve not met, 11 bids 2 days left in auction. Buy it now price $27,500. 60k miles.

Sellers description:
Very original, low mileage XKE 2+2. One of the last 6 cylinder E types made and only having covered 60K from new this car has been in the same family for over 40 years. Just getting behind the wheel you can tell this car is extremely original, un-restored and does not have any sign of rust anywhere. This car is incredibly original with matching engine number and is very unmolested. The car was originally purchased by the current owner's father in New Jersey when it was just over a couple of years old. It was always garaged and only used in warm weather. It was brought out to west in the late 90's. It is currently registered in California until June. It has been in fairly regular use and not just left sitting around to decay and seize.

Starting easily from cold, the engine is quiet and smooth with good oil pressure showing on the gauge. There is no sign of it overheating and both cooling fans cycle on and off like they should. The clutch is slipping and needs replacement. It still drives and the gearbox is excellent in all gears with no noise or synchro issues. On the road it has light accurate steering, firm suspension and a decent feel to the brakes and the parking brake holds well. It could do with a new set of tyres (Pirelli front, Goodyear on the back) as they feel out of round.

Most of the electrical equipment works although some of the switches are in need of servicing or replacement including the side lights which work when you "fiddle" with the switch. The wipers go on the slow speed only and do not park, washers do not work at all along with any of the heater or AC fans or clock. The indicators work and self cancel and the gauges all function fine (even the trip reset on the speedo works) along with the map light, choke, handbrake, and low fuel warning. The electrical system looks very untouched, no "modifications or improvements" visible. Mechanically the car is very original and could benefit from some of the rubber parts, mounts etc. being replaced. The interior is in excellent original condition with the front seats having been recovered in a nice matching leather and new carpet. The headliner and sun visors are both good. There are two very small cracks in the vinyl dash top each about half an inch long extending from the outer air vents, the rest of the top pad is perfect. The door panels are extremely nice along with the rear deck panels having all the luggage strips in place although a couple are loose. The wood steering wheel is original and not cracked, just nicely worn with use. It also features a modern Pioneer radio/ CD unit in the center console.

It has a spare in the trunk next to the original cloth cover containing the jack, hammer and knock-off tool. The car has been repainted the original white, fairly inexpensively some time ago and the paint is in decent condition, having a few chips and it has been touched up in places.

Looking closely at all the vulnerable places it seems never to have been in any kind of serious accident, the bottom of the car and floors being exceptionally straight and nice and the chassis shows absolutely no sign of rust. There has been a repair to the right rear wheel arch area, only noticeable from inside the lower trunk area, not surprising after nearly 45 years. There is the usual minor damage to the radiator support. There are some slight oil leaks as you would expect. The body overall is very straight and the door gaps are good, all three doors open and close so well reflecting the low miles this car has covered. The hood gap is a little wide at the bulkhead especially on the passenger side and would benefit from some time spent adjusting it. The drivers door also could use some adjustment inwards and although both doors lock and unlock the drivers door sometimes also locks it self upon closing. The chrome is very complete, there is a small dent in one headlight trim and one rain gutter trim on the driver side. The rear bumper has a small dent in it and the front aamco bar is tweaked. All the glass is in very good shape but all the rubber seals are showing their age. Both front lower orange lenses and one marker light lens are cracked, the rest of the lights seem fine All in all, this is an amazing find and a unique opportunity to own a super low mileage example of such a popular classic.

Car now offered at:
www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Jaguar-E-Type-4-SPD-WITH-60K-MILES-FACTORY-AC-WIRE-WHEELS- ...
Opening bid US $35,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction buy it now price $49,500, seller westcoastclassics,.60k miles, car now said to be in Santa Monica, California.

Sellers description:
West Coast Classics are proud to present a rare barn find (garage really!) of a totally rust free example of this 1969 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series II coupe with a desirable 4 speed manual transmission and its original 6 cylinder 4.2L/246HP matching #'s engine with only 60K original miles in its original 'Old English White' factory color and a beautifully kept 'Red' interior and boasting factory air conditioning and all five original Jaguar wire wheels and jack!

The car's original factory options included:
Air conditioning,
4 speed manual transmission,
chrome wire wheels,
tinted glass,
disc brakes
and which will be sold with its original owners manual.

The car is reported to have only some 60K original miles by its previous long time southern California owner who purchased the car with 57K original miles in 1998, as confirmed by the California title, and who completed extensive preventive maintenance over the years until it the car was garaged and stored for several years until we recently purchased it. The car should be considered a running and driving project requiring TLC.

The floor boards and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any major accident. It has an older repaint in its original 'Old English White' color and a nicely kept interior, with the original door panels, headliner, dashboard and carpets all in very fine condition and with reupholstered front seats. The chrome is all very good and straight and the car has it's original chrome wire wheels and spare wire wheel and jack located in the trunk.

The Series II XKE E-Type Jaguar was only built between the years 1969-71 and there were only 5,326 Longer Wheel Base 2+2 coupes built with very few manual transmission models built. This is therefore an extremely rare opportunity to own a mostly all original unrestored and always rust free survivor 1969 Jaguar XKE.
