All bills and MOT Certificates from 1975 , Confirming it's 89000 miles. Simpathetically restored following bare metal respray in 2001 when new sills and rear quarter panels were fitted, using as far as possible all original parts. eg Interior all refurbished original fittings except new carpet / headlining.Exterior all original chromework rechromed and refitted, all original mechanics overhauled and refitted.Car is reliable and excellent to drive but is not concourse.More importantly it is still substantially the car that left the factory in 1968 and I prefer it like that.

Lofty check your work. The engine and gearbox numbers are not right.

OK Engine No is 7E53995-9.but Gearbox No is correct as it is still fitted with the origonal autobox.as confirmed by car plate and Heritage Cert. The car has Series ONE interior with original Series one front brakes etc.and open headlights. It was however the first RHD 2+2 off the production line to be fitted with the vertical flow radiator and revised fan shroud ,twin cooling fans and bulkhead mounted header tank and revised heater controlls..It was also fitted from new with both a series one ignition lock and WASO steering lock both wired in series through the original wiring loom.

I still own the car. It has covered a further 30000 since its rebuild in 2001. Many trips to Europe. France ,Belgium,Germany ,Switzerland etc. Only minor body rust etc. Just had those small areas (mainly in rear quarter panels ) cut out and replaced with new metal. The car was then stripped and resprayed white yet again. Hopefully picking it up from the garage next week. Should be good for another 20 years now and it is still substantially the original car the left the factory 48 years ago.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
