Historique du modèle :
En apparaissant, la Jaguar Type E fait prendre à la concurrence 10 ans !
Présentée en mars 1961 au salon de Genève, c'est un véritable coup de tonnerre car elle représente une nouvelle technologie, un design et des performances jamais atteintes pour une voiture de série.
Quatre roues indépendantes à rayons et freins à disques, un volant bois et un tableau de bord tout en aluminium, les sièges-baquets et les phares carénés, les 3 carburateurs SU chromés en ligne et les 265 chevaux du moteur XK... Voilà ce que représente cette nouvelle ligne Jaguar appelée TYPE E.
Cette voiture deviendra l'emblème de la sportivité et de l'élégance, les plus grandes stars de l'automobile ou du 7ème art la possèderont et surtout elle passera à l'écran dans certains des plus grands films. Elle est aujourd'hui toujours aussi convoitée.
Un modèle de compétition vit la piste en 1963 sur le circuit de Sarthe : La Type E Lightweight, difficile de vouloir créer une voiture de course à partir d'un modèle sport qui peut déjà atteindre 240 km/h.
Produite à 5 813 exemplaires en conduite à gauche, le coupé 4,2L reste l'un des plus prisés grâce à sa boîte de vitesses Jaguar synchronisée, son moteur plus coupleux et ses sièges plus confortables.


Etat Carrosserie et sellerie :
Cette Jaguar a reçu une restauration complète de la carrosserie dans nos ateliers.
La sellerie fut restaurée intégralement. Les sièges, les panneaux de portes, le coffre ainsi que tous les éléments périphériques son en cuir pleine fleur, taillé sur mesure. L'isolation et les moquettes sont neufs.

Etat moteur :
Moteur refait dans nos ateliers, échappement inox, grosses soupapes, sièges pour le sans plomb, allumeur électronique.

Boite de vitesses :
Boite de vitesses Borg Warner T5, embrayage neuf.

Train arrière :
Le train arrière est re-conditioné, très bonne tenue de route.

Comportement au freinage :
Système de freinage refait avec des 4 pistons à l'avant, disques neufs. Le freinage s'avère parfait et en ligne droite.

Options :
Climatisation, direction assisté, freins renforcés, autoradio avec bluetooth, échappement inox.
